No. You do not require a EZFlash 3-in-1 expansion pack to dump GBA carts using this application. The file is a NDS file so you will boot it from a slot-1 card and have your GBA cart in the slot 2. The NDS file will write the backup to your slot-1 card. If you were trying to boot the NDS file from your slot 2 cart then that is why it was locking up as the storage unit was no longer inserted in your NDS. Once again please read the readme file but since you apparently cannot read it I will copy and paste the information for you.

gbaldr readme documentation said:
Starting Up
-----------
Patch it with the DLDI appropriate for your card. For more DLDI files and info on how to patch it refer to:
http://chishm.drunkencoders.com/DLDI/

If you are a minimalist...
The application can work entirely independent of any external skin files, all you really need is the .nds
To keep the binary small and fast to boot, the only skin files included are a dialog box, font and icons

Holding R shoulder while booting will now enter dump mode. Cancel it or do the dump to return to normal boot process.

On your first boot of the application (or any time the save battery goes dead or is disconnected, or any time
the last page of SRAM is erased) it will prompt you with a message. You press the button, and it will backup
all data in the 512k SRAM save space to the file specified, then erase SRAM for use with this program.

GBALdr provides no way to restore _all_ of that data to SRAM, it only restores/saves 256k (64k*4)
(in retail units the first 64k is not backed up with normal use).

If the below has already been posted, forgive me, as I am too lazy to read through 8 or 9 pages of text.

Here is what I use:

(Replace hxxp with http)

Included in ZIP file:
How to use:
Code:
Note 1: ÂNDS_Backup_Tool_Slot2.nds might only work on CF Slot-2 Flash Cards
ÂÂÂÂAKA:ÂÂÂÂThis might not work on SD based cards (SD,MiniSD,MicroSD)

Note 2: Âwrg-dumper.nds.gba ONLY WORKS ON SLOT-2 CF CARDS!

1.ÂÂÂÂInstall DLDIrcSetup.exe (with your Slot-2 card as the selected DLDI patch(es))

2.ÂÂÂÂAfter installation, Right-Click on NDS_Backup_Tool_Slot2.nds and patch
ÂÂÂÂit with your DLDI for your Slot-2 Flash Card

3.ÂÂÂÂUse your Slot-2 Flash Card Management Software to add both files as NDS games

4.ÂÂÂÂCopy the folder NDS_BACKUP and the file NDS_Backup_Tool_Slot2.ini to the same
ÂÂÂÂdirectory as the file NDS_Backup_Tool_Slot2.nds.

5a.ÂÂÂÂWRG-Dumper - Run in NDS Mode from GBA CF card, dump GBA game in 2MB increments

5b.ÂÂÂÂNDS_Backup_Tool_Slot2 - Run in NDS Mode from GBA card, press the right
ÂÂÂÂshoulder button ("R") twice press "B" then press "A" to confirm

6.ÂÂÂÂCopy files from card to computer and enjoy!

That information has already been posted earlier in the thread. The first application you mention works fine on both SD and CF based Slot 2 solutions and does not require a flashed Nintendo DS to work. A first of a kind application really. It has been proven and has the highest chance of success right now. We actually provided a direct link to the page where the download can be found at. Dig through the thread and you will find it.

P.S. - Why did you have to dig up this thread again? I wanted this thread to die.
