Thanks for the great reply Mightmuffy!
I will try it out once i get home.

I changed my vbagx ini cover location cause i wanna separate gameboy, gameboy color and gameboy advance covers.
I read somewhere that i have to make the maps:

vbagx/GB for gameboy covers
vbagx/GBC for gameboy color covers
vbagx/GBA for gameboy advance covers

Isn't that needed? Can i paste all covers into 1 map?
Well... not really necessary in my opinion... you could just bung them all in vbagx, unless you're using zip files and have GB & GBC roms of the same name for instance - just depends on how OCD you are! :lol:

Personally I use Gambatte and VBA off Retroarch (GBA games run better using Retroarch than vbagx by the way, though test the emu itself out first to see if you agree before changing your wiiflow setup) and my GB(A) cover setup is:

boxcovers/GB (for gambatte gb plugin, off Abz masterpiece pack)
boxcovers/GBC (gambatte gbc)
boxcovers/GBA (retroarch vba-next)

I don't have a vbagx folder in boxcovers, instead preferring to use the system names.... basically you can name or put whatever you like as long as you edit the ini accordingly ;)

The ini is the .ini of the emulator right?

Cause i wanna locate the .ini for the wii and gamecube game covers. That's wiiflow.ini right?

Yep, that's wiiflow.ini..... not a lot you can do to those though, other than switch from sd to usb1 (which will happen if you edit the boxcovers section I mentioned above). Don't forget the 1 at the end of usb when editing ;)

Bad news, still not working :-(

The wii & gamecube games and covers work perfectly.
The Gameboy advance covers don't work, they just don't show..

Background info: my games or on my hdd. wiiflow masterpack is on my SD.
Covers are on my hdd in the map root:/wiiflow/boxcovers and root:/wiiflow/covers

I would like to use Vbagx as emulator for my gameboy advance games.

I noticed 2 .ini files that could be associated with this emulator so i changed both to check if that's the problem:

vbagx.ini
[PLUGIN]
displayname=VbaGX
magic=56424158
coverfolder=vbagx
dolfile=vbagx-mod12.dol
romdir=vbagx/roms
filetypes=.agb|.gba|.bin|.elf|.mb|.dmg|.gb|.gbc|.cgb|.sgb|.zip|.7z
consolecoverid=nintendo
covercolor=fcff00
bannersound=GBA.ogg
arguments={device}:/{path}|{name}|{loader}

vbagx_gba.ini
[PLUGIN]
displayname=VbaGX GBA
magic=56424188
coverfolder=vbagx
dolfile=vbagx-mod12.dol
romdir=vbagx/roms/GBA
filetypes=.agb|.gba|.bin|.elf|.mb|.dmg|.zip|.7z
consolecoverid=nintendo
covercolor=fcff00
bannersound=GBA.ogg
arguments={device}:/{path}|{name}|{loader}

I placed the covers in the map on my hdd: root/wiiflow/boxcovers/vbagx

I used the exact name:
I tested the game Aladdin.gba and the cover name is Aladdin.gba.png

When i run the emulator the games work but i don't see any cover.

Anyone knows what i'm doing wrong?
I'm out of ideas..

Thanks in advance

since wiiflow is on SD your covers should also be on SD unless you edit wiiflow.ini and change the directory for boxcovers. so either move your covers to SD:/wiiflow/boxcovers/vbagx or edit wiiflow.ini to set the boxcovers directory to usb1:/wiiflow/boxcovers. note: changing the directory will change it for all boxcovers.

Hello,

Thanks for the reply.

I think I found the problem with your help. I changed the path in wiiflow.ini to dir_box_covers=usb1:/wiiflow/boxcovers/wii&gamecube/

Ofcourse the map vbagx or GBA has to be in wiiflow/boxcovers/wii&gamecube instead of in wiiiflow/boxcovers
To bad i'm not home so i can't try it out yet, I will let you know!

Other question: i made this map (wii&gamecube) cause i want my covers for my wii games and gamecube in a map and not all over the map boxcovers. I now think this is causing the problem with the covers for vbagx. You know how i can change my wiiflow.ini that i can place my wii covers in a map like this perhaps:

wiiflow/boxcovers/wii (wii & gamecube covers)
wiiflow/boxcovers/vbagx (gameboy covers)

only plugins can have their own cover folder. All wii, gamecube, wiiware, and VC covers go in the same folder. So for you they all go in wiiflow/boxcovers/wii&gamecube and your GBA covers should go in wiiflow/boxcovers/wii&gamecube/vbagx

It works perfectly, thanks!

Someone got some download link or site that got Wii and Gamecube HQ covers?

I see this thread has all but Wii and Gamecube.
I found the site wiiboxart.com but far from all are HQ covers.

Someone can help me with with a link to most Wii and Gamecube HQ covers?

You really are a noob. LOL try GameTDB.com

of course wiiflow and usb loader gx already have built in cover downloaders for wii and gamecube games. just check there settings menus.

Sorry for my ignorance, but how do I install these covers, like where am I suppose to paste them?, sorry for my ignorance!

Thank you!
Oof! :lol: mastershoes did have a howto on the first post but ran out of space.... are you on about the ones for Wiiflow (first post) or the emulators (2nd post)?
The emulators are easy[er] as they usually go in the emulator folder/covers.
The Wiiflow ones go in Wiiflow/boxcovers/(insert folder here) - you'll need to check the plugin ini file for each one though - wiiflow/plugins - for example here's wii2600:

[PLUGIN]
magic=32363030
coverColor=000000
coverFolder=wii2600
fileTypes=.a26|.bin|.rom|.gz|.zip
romDir=wii2600/roms
dolFile=wii2600.dol
bannerSound=Atari_2600.ogg
displayname=Wii2600
consoleCoverID=atari
arguments={device}:/{path}/{name}

I've put the part you need to read in bold.... so for the Atari 2600 covers you want to create a folder in wiiflow/boxcovers named wii2600 (you can put the folder as Atari2600, or 2600, or whatever) but you have to change the plugin to match, ie change to 'coverFolder=Atari2600' etc)

Remember that both lots of covers have to be named EXACTLY as the roms, so say you have the 2600 rom Defender named as Defender.a26, your cover has to be named Defender.a26.png ;)

Apparently still very popular.. max bandwith reached :-(

Just added more, should be good to go.

Also, while I'm posting, I have been working on the Atari 2600 set since last time i mentioned it, and the set is up to 450+ covers so far.. I don't plan on stopping til i finish everything i have laying around, so maybe another month or so and a huge update will be coming (putting a lot of work into this one). This update includes all those shrunken spine only covers put together awhile back by mike1 and Pepois.

You sir, you should get a medal.

What about gameboy color covers?
Your pack included 110 covers while i have over 500 rooms.

Just asking, i really appreciate your work and i understand you have limited time!

I'm here to make a submission for the Game Boy Advance 1090 x 458 folder, Yu-Gi-Oh! The Sacred Cards
I threw this together in photoshop, the front and back covers are the best I could pull off the internet, the spine I had to improvise based off another Yu-Gi-Oh game spine.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yu-Gi-Oh!_The_Sacred_Cards
