:yay: - Would love to see 'untouched' SFC covers myself too!

EDIT: Will chuck up the 'standard' variant of my first test cover, this one having a ~correct spine aspect ratio of 100x680:

....would of course touch up the images if I were to make a batch! :lol:

Give me a couple days (at least 'til the weekend) to mess with some ideas & coverflows, and I'll see what I can come up with. Don't go making 100 covers yet! lol

Is there a way to customize the old fashioned emulator (with the standard rom list) to show a preview of the box art on the side as another option to the 2d/3d/cartridge scrolling style?

Here is an example I made:

It's been a while since I last posted here, but I was wondering if anything like this has been created.

Hello guys,

I wonder how i have to set up the game boy advance covers:

I got a boxcover, a flat cover (only front), 2D covers and 3D covers.

Wiiflow only has the map boxcovers and covers. What to do with the 2D and 3D covers?

If you're using Wiiflow the only cover you'll need is the boxcover, and they go in their own folder (ie retroarch) into wiiflow\boxcovers. The 2D and 3D covers are used for the cover mod version of vbagx.

Thank you very much for the answer.

Now i'm sitting with a bigger question:

It's still about the gameboy advance, in combinatoir with Wiiflow and it's emulator vbagx.
The covers won't show..

This is the case:

Wiiflow masterpack is on my SD card.
All my covers are on my HDD.
The .ini file is setup like this:

vbagx_gba.ini (on my SD)
[PLUGIN]
displayname=VbaGX GBA
magic=56424188
coverfolder=GBA
dolfile=vbagx-mod12.dol
romdir=vbagx/roms/GBA
filetypes=.agb|.gba|.bin|.elf|.mb|.dmg|.zip|.7z
consolecoverid=nintendo
covercolor=fcff00
bannersound=GBA.ogg
arguments={device}:/{path}|{name}|{loader}

Also tried:

[PLUGIN]
displayname=VbaGX GBA
magic=56424188
coverfolder=vbagx/GBA
dolfile=vbagx-mod12.dol
romdir=vbagx/roms/GBA
filetypes=.agb|.gba|.bin|.elf|.mb|.dmg|.zip|.7z
consolecoverid=nintendo
covercolor=fcff00
bannersound=GBA.ogg
arguments={device}:/{path}|{name}|{loader}

The coverfolder on my HDD is:
Root:/Wiiflow/Boxcovers/vbagx/GBA/Ace Combat Advance.gba.png

Yes i tested the game Ace Combat Advance.gba :)
I think i did everything right but the covers won't show.

Anyone knows what i'm doing wrong?
Thanks in advance!

Heh, that one's actually even easier to answer.... By default Wiiflow will look for the covers on your SD card, if you want to use the HDD (good idea by the way!) then you'll need to edit the wiiflow.ini found in SD:/apps/wiiflow. Big crapload of text there: what you need to do is look (or search) for boxcovers until you see the following:

dir_box_covers=sd:/wiiflow/boxcovers

change that to:

dir_box_covers=usb1:/wiiflow/boxcovers

(look a bit further and you'll notice similar text for stuff like cache too, edit that from sd to usb1 as you see fit - cache especially is a worthy one)

Change your vbagx ini cover location back to vbagx rather than adding another folder too - it might work with a subfolder, but maybe best just to use the one.

I see the following:

dir_cache=sd:/wiiflow/cache
dir_list_cache=sd:/wiiflow/cache/lists

Can i change both to USB1?

I changed my vbagx ini cover location cause i wanna separate gameboy, gameboy color and gameboy advance covers.
I read somewhere that i have to make the maps:

vbagx/GB for gameboy covers
vbagx/GBC for gameboy color covers
vbagx/GBA for gameboy advance covers

Isn't that needed? Can i paste all covers into 1 map?

Thank for all the help Mightymuff, im glad there is still someone out there that is willing to help me with this "oldschool" stuff :)

Cheers
