Hey.

I have 2 oled nintendo switches here. One is from my little step sister. We are in a hard situation so we cant afford games atm (i mean, we cant buy 2 games every month). But i saved enough money for either 2 mig switches or modchips. But first, i wanted to ask your guys opinion. Should we go for 2 mig switches or modchips ?
we want to play games together local or online but we prefer online. I have a friend who has a game store with used games. He is ready to borrow us all of his switch games so we can dump them for the mig switch. I heard it wont be a problem with that to play games online. So i guess its better to buy 2 mig switches (and one dumper).

Next question is: The mig switch store in my country closed recently. I read on gbatemp that people recommend buying it now from aliexpress. I never ordered anything from there because the site always looked so fake. Will i get my money back if i get scammed ? or can anyone really confirm that he got his mig switch from the site ? i am just talking about the mig switch, not other products on the site.

Ps. And what is the fastest SD card for the mig switch / switch ? i will buy 2 128GB ones. I found these because they are on sale: https://www.mediamarkt.de/de/produc...osd-speicherkarte-128-gb-160-mbs-2922684.html
but i dont know if they are fast as the switch can read and write. I want the fastest speed that the switch can use. I know there are even faster cards but the switch cant read and write that fast, so i wont buy them and safe even money

Ohhh sounds logical. Its still not a big deal because as i said, my friend has a games store. He will have probably the same games multiple times so we grab 2 of each game then and dump it. Like 2x mario kart, 2x mario party etc. should be fine then.
Thanks for the info

If you want to play online, your only option is mig switch. Still there's a ban risk even if you dump your own games, if the original cartridge was sold and the buyer happens to be playing at the same time as you do, there's a problem.

imo the best/intended use for mig switch is to back up your own cartridges and store them on a single sd card, without needing to swap cartridges all the time, instead of piracy. I'd say get your 2 switches modded with modchip and play backup games entirely offline in cfw. You still need to pay for nso if you want to play online anyway.

Aliexpress is ok, has good buyer protection, ordered many parts/modchips on it before, if you don't receive it just open a dispute and depending on tracking history they'll usually refund you instantly. Although I never bought a mig switch before.

As for sd card anything from major brand should be good enough, you can buy high speed u3 cards but improvement is minimal. Don't waste money on uhs2 cards since switch doesn't support it

Thanks a lot. I think mig switch is still cheaper than a modchip, even for offline use only :).

And i forgot to mention: We really dont care about ban much since we are planning to buy the new switch (i heard nintendo wants to release a new switch but there is no official date yet). So even if we should get banned, we can play our offline games (even if not locally anymore its fine). At least we had online fun a short or long while until we got the ban if it ever should happen xD.

And to be honest, i really doubt getting a ban. When the first homebrew for the n3ds came out, some people started saying they got a ban soon or later. I played pirated games on there for over 4 years online. I never skipped a day. I played at least 6 hours straight with the n3ds per day online. So i think people lie about bans or they cheated or something if they should got a ban really.

The same counts for PS3, xbox360 etc. i had those consoles and i played free downloaded games online and never got any ban. I never cheated, i never installed any tweaks from the homebrew etc. on all of my consoles. So i cant believe i get banned on the switch. But if it should really happen, then i will be careful for my future nintendo consoles :).

So i gonna order the mig switch now on aliexpress

Yeah thats what people said for the ps3, xbox360 and 3ds too and i never had problems XDDD. If you should be right, let me see it my self haha. I have nothing to lose. But before i risk the switch of my step sister, i will try self and go online first. But i will use original dumped games.

Update: I ordered the mig Switches now. They arrive next week. I am hyped.

Last question: let’s say I play a pirated game downloaded online on the mig switch but before I insert the mig switch in my console, I disconnect my console from the internet.
And when I am finished playing, I close the game and take off the mig switch and connect back to the internet to play my Original bought games online.
Will i still get 100% banned ?

My mig switch might arrive sooner than I thought. It can arrive in 3 days already. Let’s see.

One more question: will you still get banned if you dump one Original game on 2 mig switches and play at the same time the game over the mig switches on 2 consoles while airplane mode is on on both consoles ?

If the answer should be no: what if we should play the game locally / coop but not over the internet while using still one copy on 2 mig switches ?

Mig only lets you play Switch games. Mod chip lets you use EVERYTHING. Ofw for legit carts online, cfw emunand for everything else, including home brew, such as NXMP and emulators. If I was getting my first switch today and could only afford 1 or the other, it wouldn’t even be a hard choice. Mod chip 10000%

I am a online player and not really into modding^^.
And your comment didn’t answer my question but still thanks.

I know i can get always banned for using the switch. But according to what people say, you get a faster / guaranteed ban if you use it wrong like playing downloaded Roms no matter if you are connected to the internet or not.

But what if you dump one original game on 2 mig switches and play it at the same time on 2 consoles with the mig switches without using any online feature

Yeah but the mig seems also cheaper so idk.
Having cfw will get us banned instantly if we connect to the internet or at least if we play Original dumped games (not sure if and how you can dump games with cfw).
My current question is if I get banned when using 1 original dumped game on 2 switches at the same time with 2 mig switches and without being connected to the internet. We are returning the original games after we dumped them. So we only play with the mig.
I guess it should be fine since we got the dump from a original game and we are not going to play online at the same time until I find a second original game for my sister that I can dump

The truth is, nobody knows. It's not like nintendo published a guideline for using mig switch and specifically listed things that will get you banned. But from those people did get banned, what we are sure about are:

don't use those rom files from the 500gb torrent file, many people have been banned for using them, guess nintendo blacklisted all certificates in that torrent;
don't mix certificates from different games;
don't run two copies of the same game at the same time (original cart + mig dump, or 2 mig dumps);

as for running them offline, nobody but nintendo knows. switch will collect a ton of telemetry data and send them to nintendo server the second it connects to internet. I think i've seen people getting banned for using mig switch offline, but what triggers the ban nobody knows.

Avoid cartridge emulators such as MigSwitch, 100% irrevocable ban. It allows you to launch only basic games, no update, no DLC, no homebrew. rather prefer A modchip with kamikaze and you don't lose any functionality.

With modchip I get banned too when I play my games online.

According randy it sounds still very risky running 1 game on 2 mig Switches even if the consoles are not connected to the internet because of logs. So I won’t try it until the new switch is out. Once I got the new switch, I start risking my old switch by playing one game that’s being played already over the mig switch and don’t care if it gets banned since I still can play single player games on it.

Until the new switch comes out, I use the mig switch to play my games that I dumped from my original games. I guess I buy my friends games and once the new switch is out, I sell the games for same price. Takes probably a while til they get sold if the games got old but it’s fine

Using MIG Switch or similar on an already banned console is one of the best use cases, right after the modchip. If you have a modded Switch laying around, even better as you'll be able to update your games to whatever version you want, provided that you have the necessary files and are patient enough for update to be sent via local network. MIG Switch was intended to be used for backup loading, not piracy. Therefore, making full dumps of your games shouldn't get you banned.

In my opinion, it'll be better if you find someone to install a modchip for you than to waste your money on the MIG Switch. You'll have the fully unlocked system and access to all those homebrew apps and whatnots, and installing games won't be problem. There are a couple of packs around the Internet with games dumped to be used on MIG Switch, but whether the game you'd like to play is on there is questionable. There are many games that didn't get a physical relaese, therefore you won't see them getting dumped for MIG Switch either. Also, cycling through the games could be a chore depending on how many games you have on it.

I personally use SanDisk Extreme 256GB microSD cards on my Switches and had no issues with them after 700+ hours of gaming. I've tested the cards with h2testw before using them.
