Okay that makes more sense, RedNAND is what worries me (given its stability issues), that being said, I do have Python 3.5 installed and I did generate an fw.img with Fix94's tutorials (not for vWii, but the IOSUHAX). At this time, I don't know
of any out of region games that I want, not yet anyway.

I've used the same fw.img from vwii hack

Is there a way for me to know if the fw.img I compiled is safe or legit? Like, I don't want there to be any missing data, the wrong hash/SHA-1, etc, before I use it.
Here's the CRC, MD5 and SHA1 of my personal build of FIX94's fork of iosuhax.
CRC: F24E90F9
MD5: b0617e31f41f07b5ec9b948838e8c71d
SHA1: 4D14047568E1E2AADA95FBC23021F3E458F774E7

EDIT: Added the SHA1 for my personal build.

So after adding an update to a game it dont work it now has another meta.xml i need to change in the update folder. Where would the update path be for the game to download the xml to edit in that as well then reupload back. Ive changed the original xml but update stopped the game booting.
Game plays fine region swopped without update applied just need to know path of update location to apply update and change the xml there too. Thanks

It should be something like this

Code:
w.up ("meta.xml", "/vol/storage_mlc01/usr/title/0005000e/101d3000/meta/meta.xml")

just change the last 0 in 00050000 to e and it should work

ok.. so i used Disc U to rip an out of region WUD to wup installable files, is it possible to pre patch the region before installing ?

So, this is extracting a file from a game, modifying it, and replacing it... Could this method be used to install game mods to USB? I'd love to be able to run my copy of Tokyo Mirage Sessions from USB instead of loadiine.

Should be, yeah. Just as long as the mods don't need to change anything in the code folder

You may want to refocus your efforts on the EU version then. Or, are you trying to make a better US version? In which case, the only way to make a better US version is to keep on plugging away at that one ;)

I would like to eventually have the ability to add more characters, enemies, even have a completely different story if i wanted. I already have the ability to change the tilemaps in the US version, so I can basically make my own map and warp to it in game - so I'm pretty far into it!
