Hardware Can't get my Audio PCI 3000 soundcard to install drivers.

I have the drivers for this card on an installation disc. While running the installer, it lets me know that it's updating Windows drivers and to wait a moment. Then, the Add New Hardware Wizard comes up (WIN98SE by the way) and tries to search for drivers for "PCI Multimedia Audio Device". It doesn't find any drivers anywhere, not on my hard drive nor on the disc, and the setup program hangs after I close the new hardware wizard and the sound card doesn't work. The exact card is Audio PCI 3000 ES1370. Before I wiped my hard drive, there were Sound Blaster 128 something-or-rather drivers which worked, however I tried those and they didn't work either. Any help would be appreciated because I feel like I'm just making a very simple mistake somewhere here.

Maybe it is better to cancel the Hardware Assistent,leave the unknown PCI device in the device manager or removed it and then start the Install program from your Soundcard please.

Well, using provided drivers i somehow managed to get them installed and everything LOOKS how it used to. 3 new allegedly functioning devices appeared in device manager:
Creative Gameport Joystick
Creative Sound Blaster AudioPCI 128
Sound Blaster AudioPCI 128 Legacy Device (this one said drivers didn't work, but windows searched and selected new ones and it is now allegedly functioning.)
However, I have no sound at all. I checked to make sure the speakers were plugged in correctly, nothing. What should I do from here?

upon launching setup it says that no soundblaster was detected and to ensure that the hardware is properly installed. i know for a fact the hardware is in the pc correctly, it worked before i had to wipe the harddrive.

Yes, I actually downloaded the image from that page or at least a similar one. it wasn't one that came with the card as the card came preinstalled in the computer.

Well, uh... it made it impossible for my pc to boot other than by safe mode, giving a Windows protection error forcing me to reset my computer. Perhaps it's time to look for another sound card, these drivers seem to not exist anymore...
