I quickly ported CannonBall - the enhanced Outrun Engine to the Switch. I'll plan on finishing it (add sound, controlls etc) soon and release it.

Can't post links of a video/pic but check my twitter @ModernVintageG . I was also known as lantus back in the Xbox/Xbox 360 scene :)

more to come!

Edit: first release out ! - https://github.com/lantus/cannonball-nx/releases

If you are indeed the lantus360 that I rememeber, then the work you did back in the 360 days was absolutely incredible.

I loved the emulators you released years ago on the Xbox Classic, their still getting some use on my Xbox! :)

As it happens i'd randomly subscribed to your Modern Vintage Gamer YouTube channel a few months ago, then found out your lantus from the Xbox Scene as I watched though some of your other videos.

thanks for the kind words!

What's the difference to running it on pFBA

its an engine thats been written for it. there are differences such as widescreen support, custom music, you can tweak the number of cars on the track etc, high score saves , different game modes etc

i ported it over mainly as a proof of concept to see whats involved, but its good enough to release :)

Still using some of your OG XBox Emulators, letting my little brothers play old games on it. Cool to see you make a return!

@SylverReZ, I dislike the kind of drm where you have to play single player games online all the time bc of some verification bs

@Xdqwerty, Don't use games that have Easy Anti-Cheat as its been exploited many times.

@SylverReZ, my PC can't run most AAA games so i wont

@SylverReZ, I also heard one of the Prince of Persia games was so unfinished that it required the "24/7 online" drm so a puzzle could be done and the game could be finished. And that when the Ubisoft servers were closed the (cracked) game was impossible to finish or something like that
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Xdqwerty, That's extra scummy. Ubisoft nowadays ship out incomplete games like Skull and Bones which was being worked on for nearly a decade now.

@SylverReZ, i think they have been doing that since late 2000s

Either that or their old games were unfinished aswell but we can't notice it

I like that games can be fixed after the fact, hate that it's being abused via beta tests... And DLC... I was a 7800 owner back in the day and loved Impossible Mission, turns out I couldn't beat it because it was actually impossible lol
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I never knew about it at the time but a fixed version was available but you had to mail in your broken copy lol
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
So that version is semi rare
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
@Psionic Roshambo, I have a rom of the ds version of impossible mission
