I'd like to clean up my NDS file, and I want to know if renaming the ROM would have any effect on it.

Renaming the ROM file from 'xxx.nds' to 'somethingmorerecognizable.nds' has no effect. You can do that conveniently with Rominator by Hankchill (just click the link in my sig).

edit: greyhound beat me to it.

I rename all of mine. I hate how they come with all the who ripped it and what they were eating during the dumping crap.

Feel free to rename away. Just be sure to keep the ".nds" extension on the end.

Thanks. This forum sure is supportive. Most active DS homebrew/ROM forum I've seen so far, too.

Yeah, renaming the ROM file itself won't have any effect, but if it's on a flash cart make sure to rename the corresponding save file the same way, or else it won't detect the save. And if you want to rename the internal name of the ROM, try Rominator (http://gbatemp.net/index.php?showtopic=44909).

I don't have a wii u anymore to test it myself, but if homebrews are not visible on the wii u menu I think you can press L + R + minus to open the plugin menu, there should be an option called "homebrews on wii u menu" or something similar
