Hello
I own a wii for about one week and have now installed softmii with preloader 0.27, every backup (iso) i tried worked perfectly (even the black screens on some games after loading throught the disc channel have dissapeared after disabling the force region free and video mode on the preloder settings) but now i want to go to the next step, so i want to know if i can go online with my softmodded wii and play the backups normally.
Is there the risk, like on a Xbox360 of the servers detect the mods and brick the console or the backups won´t even run?
Tell me your experiences
thanks

no real network for them to ban you from. its not like xbox live or home where you have to sign up(or pay in xbox live) and not a big enough online community for them to bother.

No banning. The biggest issue is getting disconnected from servers for not having the latest system menu. Been booted a bunch of times while trying to play Mario Kart.

That makes no sense, the highest firmware you could have through means of disc updates is 3.2 right? That is assuming you have 3.2.

EDIT: Oh wait, i'm stupid. You're playing online. So you have access to online updates.

@SylverReZ, I dislike the kind of drm where you have to play single player games online all the time bc of some verification bs

@Xdqwerty, Don't use games that have Easy Anti-Cheat as its been exploited many times.

@SylverReZ, my PC can't run most AAA games so i wont

@SylverReZ, I also heard one of the Prince of Persia games was so unfinished that it required the "24/7 online" drm so a puzzle could be done and the game could be finished. And that when the Ubisoft servers were closed the (cracked) game was impossible to finish or something like that
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Xdqwerty, That's extra scummy. Ubisoft nowadays ship out incomplete games like Skull and Bones which was being worked on for nearly a decade now.

@SylverReZ, i think they have been doing that since late 2000s

Either that or their old games were unfinished aswell but we can't notice it

I like that games can be fixed after the fact, hate that it's being abused via beta tests... And DLC... I was a 7800 owner back in the day and loved Impossible Mission, turns out I couldn't beat it because it was actually impossible lol
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I never knew about it at the time but a fixed version was available but you had to mail in your broken copy lol
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
So that version is semi rare
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
@Psionic Roshambo, I have a rom of the ds version of impossible mission
