What in the world is this non sense?
I have almost my entire N64 library playing full speed without overclock. Stock speeds.
Only game I have which requires OC is Pokemon Snap. Everything else runs fullspeed at stock speeds, and even at 2x or higher resolutions.
Like i said from start majoras mask plays fine, just alter settings.

But id love to see you play hybrid heaven at so called full speed flawlessly.

Alot of games have issues and each game needs its own tweek.

Strongly advise against over clocking.

But please grab hybrid heaven rom, full sound and record it.

Do you have any specific settings or guideline to follow? I get alot of stuttering and slow downs when running Pokemon stadium n what not. Any advice or direction would be greatly appreciated.

Simply have all settings as default, but disable both of the DRAM options.
That does wonders.

Appreciate your replies. I turned off colour buffer RDRAM and depth buffer RDRAM definitely helped but still have some stuttering and slowdowns for Pokemon Stadium 2. Must be normal then eh

What? Why would anyone still be using the beta March builds, when the finalized core is available in bith stable and nightly builds of RetroArch (Mupen64 Plus Next)?

People really need to keep up if they don't want comments like "it doesn't work", because I have all my carts as ROMs working full speed for months now.

Theres loads that have issues like this guy is asking how to improve one.

Switch n64 emulation is far from pc quality, which even today is not flawless.

I advise the op to kindly listen to me and and this angry guy.

You will find games run nice, loads will run slow, you will need to change cores, settings but please never over clock.

Your putting strain on your console to try make a rom run better that is highly likely going to run like shit regardless.

Ive been part of the emulation scene back in the 90s and these cores are basic ports of pc plugins and dont always port over perfectly, retroarch is a program made to work on multiple devices.

The cores and plugins are all to work within retroarch and each device and hardware can cause issues, they dont make a plugin or core dedicated to just one device.
Sounds like u have a major missconfiguration going on lol
Mupen64plus-nx (next) was literally written on nintendo switch, for nintendo switch
I mean I am the guy that wrote it...

Try NBA Hangtime. I know there's a PSX option (which I'm going with), but still, even with the disabled settings and max overclock, a fantastic slideshow going on there! :P

My biggest gripe is that you only get a few minutes of N64 gameplay before RetroArch crashes. Whether a better card than a SanDisk Ultra is needed, certain other settings need to be configured, or if it happens no matter what, I'm not certain. I know Flycast causes it to crash even if you finish playing a game, though I haven't spent enough time with one to see if it crashes with time as well, but that's another core altogether.
