As much as I would love to open it but I do not have required tool.
Sorry I cannot help on this information.
But if anything I can tell from the exterior of this unit, please let me know.

So what is going on now? Some units works and others not from the same batch?
Surely if 1 of the newer 2018 models works then they should all do?
not necessarily, there has to be a switch at some point, and tbh I would imagine Nintendo wouldn't want to make the change super easy to determine from just looking at the case, its also possible they were produced in different factory's

no worries, I'm sure if it is a markio unit more people will start getting them soon and someone with the tools will crack one open and take a look

try connecting a usb hub (even a cheap usb 2.0 hub) between pc usb port and usb a-c cable and switch

when i was bridging pins 9 and 10 on right joycon only this way i could execute the payload correctly. No i'm bridging pin 1 and 10 and i don't need the usb hub in between to execute the payload with all the other components being the same.

HAC-S-JXE-C3 - so this is the magic name that is the quiet Markio release then? The overlaper.
But we need someone to pop open their Switch and see if the CPU match what @gamesquest1 asks.

except everyone that is able to do any of this stuff, likely already has a switch because of the various alerts.

yeah but there will be people coming in late, we seen it with the 3DS over and over again back when specific FW requirements were important....although granted with the 3DS being a softmod simply updating your FW made a console not compatible, while here all compatible units will always be compatible

I don't think that these are mariko (T214) units because they came with FW 4.1. They are probably still T210 but with an updated bootROM.

People saying that because they don't come with the newest firmware they can't be the new model are guessing.

There could be many reasons the new units don't have fw5+.
Only opening the console and looking at the board will get us closer to a definitive answer.
