Hello all,
I will start by saying I am not very savvy in the ways of the Wii modding.
I picked up my Wii while it was already modded and had the homebrew channel and USB Loader GX.
I recently decided to try and get Gamecube backups to work, as they would not show up in my USB Loader GX, I installed Dios Mios 2.8 (I believe) and Wiiflow (used a guide which suggested installing Wiiflow).
I also installed cIOS 58 as I read somewhere that it was needed.
I managed to get Gamecube backups to work in Wiiflow.
I also updated my USB Loader GX to version 3.0, it will not detect my GC backups even though they are on a fat32 formatted 1TB drive which is the primary active drive, but that's not a problem as they work on Wiiflow.
My problem now is that; no matter the game I try, in USB Loader GX, CFG, Wiiflow, Neogamma.. I can get the games to show in the loader, but once I start the game, I get a black screen and the Wii freezes, forcing me to hold the power button down for 5 seconds or so until the Wii turns off.
Games are stored on a 1TB HDD, which is partitioned into a Fat32 (32k) drive for GC games, and a WBFS formatted drive for Wii games, prior to all this I have been using the same drive with one partition which was formatted to WBFS and had no problems.
Have been trying to find an answer for two days now with no luck.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

*Update*
Just letting anyone with a similar issue know, I managed to fix it after all.
First I reinstalled d2x cIOS Installer v3.1, I used the instructions I found through a google search:

Download d2x cIOS and extract to the apps folder on your SD card
- Load Homebrew channel and load d2x installer
- Select IOS36 or 236 to use during the install
- Select cIOS to install <D2X v6>
- Select base IOS i.e <56>
- Select cIOS slot i.e <249>
- Select cIOS revision <21006>
- Press Home to add to que
- Select cIOS to install <D2X v6>
- Select base IOS i.e <57>
- Select cIOS slot i.e <250>
- Select cIOS revision <21006>
- Press A 2x
- Follow onscreen instructions to reboot wii safely

After that, I checked Usb Loader GX again, and my games all work.
I did also install cIOS236 while I was at it, but I believe things worked before that aswell.

@SylverReZ, atleast wiimmfii went fine although people only use it for Mario kart Wii
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
At least if they ban you for cheating, get another Wii. They're cheap as chips.

Remember when RiiShop was a thing?
  • BakerMan @ BakerMan:
    not really
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
It got shutdown because somebody "accidentally" leaked the database for the amount of people using the beta.
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
RiiShop is the laziest way of downloading Wii games. Did somebody not think of this through?
  • BakerMan @ BakerMan:
although i ended up accidentally changing my nand with no way of going back bc i didn't know you needed a gamecube controller to restore it (i have a wii minus/1.1, which doesn't have gamecube controller support)
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@BakerMan, I think you're talking about the recovery mode that the SaveMii used, and also was to restore softbricked systems.
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
If your NAND was hardbricked, then just buy another Wii. Or go with the dirty NAND flasher method.
  • BakerMan @ BakerMan:
and if i find the sd card i have my NAND backed up on, i can not only restore the NAND if i solder the right part in, but i can also put my NAND on dolphin, then i can play dolphin online, like PMEX Remix or MKWii Riibalanced

    Brb
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@BakerMan, Oh yeah, that was a thing too. Dolphin does support Wiimmfi.
  • BakerMan @ BakerMan:
yeah you just need to put your NAND backup with wiimmfi on it
  • BakerMan @ BakerMan:
ngl i feel like if a bunch of my friends have wiis and know how to get wiimmfi and back up their NAND, then we could do a PMEX Remix tournament
  • BakerMan @ BakerMan:
maybe even add UMVC3/DBFZ and make it a biathlon/triathlon
