if i don't see an increase in free wifi hotspots here by the time i'll buy one. i'll get the 3g.
if it's really bundled with globe telecom, i won't complain.

oh and i don't have, and probably will never have a phone again.

being that 3G will likely be slower and add a monthly cost, I really can't see a positive to having it. and I really don't trust service availability...

To be more specific, its a 3g that devices connect to via wifi connection... if that makes sense...

Wifi, cuz i have a portable 3g device already
What about online play?
wifi?
You don't want 3G for that?
if you can use wifi, why not just use wifi.
the 3G version will have 3G+WiFi.
So its not like you wont have the option to connect to WiFi networks

but will the 3G really be worth the added costs? we can only guess until Sony releases more info as to what they will be doing with the 3G, but it's not like you'll only be paying the $50 at the system's initial purchase. you'll have to pay for a monthly data plan on top of it.

what i mean is, if you have a lot of wifi hotspots available to you. then it'll be cheaper if you just buy wifi-only.

i'd assume it's monthly...but i'm quite often wrong about many things.

you kind of have to assume that the data plan will be similar to what you might get on a smartphone. how else would anyone make any money off of it?

Ok then, it works like a portable wireless access point. That better?

Lets just hope they offer cheap plans for it.
They are probably going to be pretty tight on that :/

Like 1GB for £10.

Wi-Fi only, I'll bet $50,000 that 3G support won't come all the way here. Neither will it come to Singapore Chris

I know it sounds heart breaking, but this is the fact.

3G support will be in Japan, UK, US and some other countries, but it definitely ain't coming to Middle-Eastern Asia, SG/Malaysia, India, Brazil etc etc etc.
