April 2018 NPD Sales Results: God of War Pummels the Competition
The NPD Group's sales report has been published, letting the public see the best-selling games from the month of April for North America. Once more, we'll be taking a look at what games ranked where, and the games that sold the most on each platform. Please note that games with * at the end of their title denotes that digital sales are not counted.
Sales Figures
Software Sales were at $823 million, up by 18%, compared to April 2017's $699 million.
Hardware was at $225 million, an increase by 15% to 2017's $195 million.
Accessories brought in 240 million, up by a whopping 28%.
This leaves the industry at a total of $4.24 billion year to date.

Sony's God of War broke records for a PS4 exclusive launch, and rose to the top of the charts while Far Cry 5 continues with strong sales. MLB: The Show was also another successful Sony exclusive. Nintendo had a solid lineup too, doing well with their new Labo and Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze port, while also having their older 2017 games dotted about the list, still.
