Hacking Apps on ps3 cfw

Im currently on Rebug 4.80 CFW, but was wondering if i could install/update Youtube on the ps3 without harming my possibility of playing backups.

yeah, you can launch the ps store and download\update youtube or games without issue
the only thing that harms CFW is if you update in the system... but even that i think the cfw doesn't let you do it...

apps can be updates with no issue...
