So, start off going here: http://smealum.github.io/3ds/

Download the Homebrew Starter Kit and unzip it into the root of your 3DS SD card. It will put a file in the root and make a 3DS folder with other stuff.
Remember to unzip the contents of the Starter folder, not the folder itself.

Also get JK's Save Manager: https://gbatemp.net/threads/release-jks-savemanager-homebrew-cia-save-manager.413143/
Again, unzip it to the root and it will put everything where needed. Same as before, you want the contents, not the folder it's all in in the zip.

Assuming you're using Ocarina of Time, you need: https://github.com/yellows8/oot3dhax/releases

Now, put your OoT in your Powersaves and back up your save.
It goes in C:/Users/<Your User Name>/PowerSaves
.

Okay I am new ot this. Like literally know about Homebrew for a few hours now and I can't find answer to my questions anywhere, so here comes the stupid :

When I download JKSM by the link you pasted, I get a CIA file. So how do I unzip it in the root of my SD card ?

For OOT : Does the fact that it's Nintendo Selects change anything ?

Do we really need a powersave in order to use the SE ? Can't we just do a save with something else ?

Sorry if I sound dumb, but I literally don't understand a single thing, and EVERY link I found is saying the exact opposite of each others. One tells me on 11.0 you can't have Homebrew, then you have someone else saying yes, then it's on OOT, then on the Web browser, one that say you need your MH game on card other tells you it's okay to have it from the nintendo eshop. I am so lost you have no idea!

I just want to make this save editor work, and this one too : https://gbatemp.net/threads/another-mh4u-save-editor.396687/

I'm on 300+h of game on MH4U, and I still can't get this item I need and it's starting to be frustrating, because I really want to "finish" this game before starting Gen.

Any idea how I can make it work ? Thanks a lot and so sorry to bother you with my stupid questions...

1. There's a .3dsx file just put it into the /3ds/ folder on your 3ds
2. You don't need OOT Anymore, you can use browserhax: https://yls8.mtheall.com/3dsbrowserhax.php
3. For the mh4u editor it works about the same, but you need to decrypt the save yourself with the tools provided. I might update the 4u editor in the future so it does it for you if I have time.

Finally some clarity! Thanks!

But I'm sorry I still don't get some things:

1. Uuh a .3dsk file ? Where ? Once I download from https://gbatemp.net/threads/release-jks-savemanager-homebrew-cia-save-manager.413143/ (the first link) I literally have only a CIA file. This is what is losing me here.
2. Wow, my wallet says thank you !
3. Here comes the real questions : On the MH4U editor page, I don't understand the "how to use". There. I am stupid. Also, the SDM I found is this :
https://gbatemp.net/threads/save-data-manager-and-editor-for-firmware-up-to-9-9.396245/ But with a firmware up to 9. So will it work ? Am I to use it on the 3DS or on my computer ?

Can someone just make a reaal simple tuto on how to proceed ? I swear to god I want to hit myself with a rock for not understanding this... I think I will just give up and just stop everything :')

If you don't undertand this, save editing isn't for you

1. At the bottom of the post, there's JKSM_3DSX.zip and MHGSV.zip download MHGSV if you're only going to be using it for MHGen
3. Ignore that and just use JKSM to export mh4u save

This is what is bothering me. I use save editing for years now, just never did on Nintendo. It seems the community is so contradictory that if you have a problem, you can't just "google it" so solve it. If you do this, you end up with 30+ tab, a headache, and so many different answer you don't know wich one is the right one.

Well I am starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel. Thank you so much! And thank you for the save editor too, even if I am not using it, and probably never be able to. It's great to see such hardwork being free!

Okay well I figured it out myself.
I just wanted to let you know that I posted on the https://gbatemp.net/threads/another-mh4u-save-editor.396687/page-4 thread since it seems it's quite dead to have an answer.
My problem being that in Homebrew->JK-> I only have MHGen and not MH4U.

I guess it's because unlike MHGen that I buyed on card, MH4U was buyed on the Nintendo eshop ? A bunch of friends and I were quite waiting for the MH4U SE to work and having this error is weird, since I tested with Gen and everything work splendidly !

... ?

You select the title you want to use the save editor for before you even launch the app. Press left or right to switch games. If you have a card in the card slot, it'll automatically start on that.

Question for getting all the materials, does this unlock everything on the save itself including ALL the DLC for the span of Generations?

Ah okay. Now I am wondering, since we're unlocking that kind of DLC, is there a way to unlock the DLC Quest associated with the items or naw?
Not possible. The DLC quests themselves are technically dlc since the quests themselves don't exist in your game.
