You can try the beta version here:

Please post any errors or things that didn't work as expected.
Worked like a charm!

Something strange: when you add two face sides and get rid of the side beach, regardless of what you replace the acre with you'll be able to hear the waves.

Guessing that this is something that we haven't discovered how to change yet

BTW, maybe it's a bit hidden, but you can now change your player's and town's names. That's the feature that really needs testing!

I have a suggestion: could you show where the boarders are for buildings? Also I'd like the ability to remove PWP's but I'll just stick with NLSE for now :P
Great work so far, I haven't encountered any bugs.
Adding/removing buildings by hacking is not a good idea. Weird things can happen like buildings disappearing, or houses that don't appear at all (see some posts above).
That's why I removed the ability to remove PWPs.

You could be like the acww editor and have a advanced mode where you're not allowed to add or remove buildings unless advanced mode is enabled, and have a caution pop up saying unexpected things could happen if you proceed so they can't come crying to you if they mess up their save and don't back it up :P

Marc isn't responsible for people misusing the editor so I don't think that's really necessary.

There are already like a 100 warnings lol

PWP buildings system is not documented, the game edits some unknown bytes when adding/removing PWPs. I won't add features that are not safe, since we don't know how the game will react later.

Just tried the new editor and everything worked a treat - there was one little slip-up on my part though. I was changing out furniture in one of my player's rooms and forgot to remove one of the tabletop items in the editor, and it ended up on a non-table item when I went in-game. I tried getting rid of it by putting it in my pocket but it didn't work, and when I left the room the game froze on a black screen. It was easy to fix though, I just went back into the editor and removed it and there were no further problems. :)

Anybody know how to edit the acre data further, seeing as audio files such as the "beach" sound or "waterfall" sounds aren't tied to the actual acres themselves. (for clarification, I replaced my side beach with cliff, though I can still hear the beach sound effects).

secondly, perhaps you could add a feature which allows us to add new PWPs/buildings as opposed to having edit something that's already in our town (which strangely only allows you to edit buildings like katrina's tent or the plaza and not actual things like bridges). I remember doing this manually months ago and it's a fairly simple process (building ID then followed by coordinates). I never experienced any sort of problems doing it manually.

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

Also this is unrelated to the editor, does anybody know of any of the values for the island tour towns?

Apologies if this question is asked frequently. But in future versions will there possibly be a way to edit the nookling store (Version of store, not items in the store)? Or set number of completed events with the NPCs that show up at the town plaza?

Also, great work on what you've done so far! Been enjoying this for quite a while!

is it possible to add the ability to move the town tree/plaza tree + adding more plaza/town trees to this editor?
I know you can do it, but I believe it's in the ram editor.
If it isn't, my apologies for asking.

Maybe a better question would be, could you add it then?
Lol.
You can move the town plaza + tree in the editor already. You can also add plazas in the editor as well, if you want to.

The only thing it can't currently do is add another town tree, since he hasn't added the feature to practically "spawn" PWPs/buildings for technical reasons.

If you want to do it yourself you'll have to download a hex editing software and edit the hex. It sounds complicated but is insanely easy and fast.

Last edited by Jarrad,
Does moving the plaza move the tree with it?
I've read that moving the plaza only moves the plaza, not the tree itself.
And I can't seem to find the tree in any of the options in the editor, unless I am very blind.
(sorry I'm so dumb btw)

No, the plaza is technically an acre, whereas the tree is considered a building.

If you hover your cursor over the square in the centre of the plaza you'll receive the coordinates for the tree, check the building list to the right and you'll find the tree.

Town plaza = the tiles
town tree = the tree

I do not see "town tree" listed in the buildings section to the right, then. I only see "town plaza".
Hovering my cursor over the center of the plaza tiles in the editor, it says "Building: town plaza" not town tree.
I know the plaza is the tiles. But the town tree is not listed in the editor in the buildings section.

So, is the "building: town plaza" the town tree, is what I'm assuming?
I don't want to move things if I don't for sure know what they are.

Oh, he must have named it incorrectly. A plaza is an area.

If it's to the right then it's definitely the town tree, since you have to edit the acre in order to move the real plaza (the tiles)
