You need to extract the RVFOREST.DAT file (ACCF savegame file) from your Wii to SD card by using savegame extractor (and installer to install it back from SD card to Wii after you make the modification to your town).

You could find those wiibrew apps in wiibrew.org website.

Use SaveGameManager GX.
I agree - it's better if you use this one instead of the separate Extractor/Inserter mentioned earlier

I tried them & they never worked for me, but the 'SaveGameManager GX' did (once I figured out how to use it)

> Just remember that you have to 'extract' the sav to the SD card using 'SaveGameManager GX'
> Place SD card into PC & use the ACCF editor to alter it
> Save it BACK to the SD card
> Re-use the 'SavegameManager GX' to reinsert the sav file BACK into ACCF

Ah - you're doing it the hard way... - What I did was install 'Homebrew Browser' & downloaded the savegamemanager through that

On your SD card you should have an 'apps' folder
Inside that you'll need a 'savegame_gx' folder
Inside THAT you need to place the R081.dol file
RENAME that file to 'boot.dol'

So you should have
  • apps > savegame_gx > boot.dol
You normally should also have a 'icon.png' and a 'meta.xml' file in this folder - but I beleive those are not THAT important

------------------------
Now put SD card back into Wii & start up/boot - & then run 'Homebrew Channel'

You should now have a new option called 'Savegame Manager GX' (but since you don't have the png/xml files - you won't see a small graphic or a description to the program)
Go ahead & load it....

If things go well - you should then get a screen up that looks a little like the Wii mainchannel menu along the bottom, & 2 large boxes on the top 2/3 of the screen

The left hand side should show al the games it has found, the right should show the contents of your SD card

Press the [ B ] button on Wiimote to select the lefthand column of games
Scroll down to 'Animal Crossing' & press [ A ] - you should then get an option to 'extract'
Select that & it'll extract the save file onto your SD card

Once done - you should end up with the required DAT file somewhere on the SD card - which you can then edit to your hearts content (I recommend you do a backup in case things go wrong before editing)

Once done - save the dat back to SD card & go through the same as above to start up 'SaveGameManager'
except when you get to the 2 large boxes - make sure the RIGHT haand box is selected, scroll down to animal crosing sav and press [ A ]

you should then get the option to 'Delete' or 'Install' - use the 'install'
