Damn...I'm so glad I came across this. I was just thinking to myself that I need a new SP since the L button is a little wonky. Maybe I'll wait to see who carries the K-clone when it comes out and grab one of those instead. Or maybe just grab a real SP and this clone to have both.

Somebody please update this thread with impressions when these get released and you get one.

EDIT: So what I'm reading from the blog is that this will indeed function like a regular GBA SP too. It will play official cartridges if you want to. But when you pop in the supplied K-Card is when the device acts like a standard flash cart. Meaning it will play 1:1 backups, emulators, and homebrew.

This sound about right? Just making sure that this will play official cartridges as well as the K-Card before I decide to get one when they come out.

I'm pretty excited for this. Looks like a fantastic machine. I think if they come up with a Micro next that will play official cartridges along with 1:1 backups is when most people will start blowing their wads in their pants.

yup that's right. it functions just as a normal gba, and the k-card works as it's own proprietary flash cart.
some people are ordering from taobao via an agent like zarmark.

i've used zarmark before, they're a very friendly bunch and reliable. there are other agents around too i believe, but i've not used any others.

Thanks for the info, gibberish. Since it looks like these are officially out now I think I'm going to wait a while to see if anywhere else gets them.

Thanks for the information. I'm assuming the consoles are shipping in black?

i couldn't tell you i'm afraid, i haven't ordered one yet because i already have the prototype in black. i'll order another unit when there are different form factors. maybe ask on the blog, i think someone ordered 2 of them.

p.s. please, anyone interested should fill out a product request on dx and post in this thread:

it would be amazing to see this widely available on somewhere like dx.

We need more people to go to deal extreme and request that they stock the product. There are only 5 or 6 people who have asked for the product. Come on guys would you stock an item with only 5 or 6 product requests. Go sign in and requested it already. I'll wait here. :D link
