How do I get the latest version of the dat file? The update function in offlinelist is not working for this file.

Well, in fact I did that dat file (v2) from the first post.
I updated a little the file but it's not complete so there's no v3.

I didn't put an URL for the update or covers because I don't know how many D/L and trafic I would had.
I'll upload it here when it's updated.

As I said in a previous post, I thought I'll add a lot of information in the file, but they are not working with OfflineList, so maybe they are not required?
I just wanted to make a dat with as most informations as possible.

Edit:
I'm currently working on it.

Someone know where I can find the Nintendo's official Maker code list? I already saw that list once (in Snes time), but I don't remember where I can find it again.
I don't have the roms to check the header myself.
01 Nintendo
08 Capcom
41 Ubi Soft Entertainment
64 LucasArts Interactive
8P SEGA Japan
AF Namco
GD Square-Enix

I need:
Disney Interactive
EA
Konami
Tecmo
WB Games

Yes, thank you :)
I'm adding these codes in the dat file, maybe it can be useful to someone who want to make a renamer/dat manager, all informations will be already inside.

Offline list only accepts and shows defined tags, the dats can't store additional informations.
If someone can code a (universal) dat manager for 3DS it would be great. Like NDSCRC, or OfflineList but without limitation.
Offline List is not good for 3DS, see the informations in the spoiler tag bellow.

Also, I couldn't make the "fake Collection" plugin to work (to list your real games as "have"). I don't know what's wrong with the dat.

Here is my 3DS Offline List v3
And here is the 3DS images pack I'm using.

  • Features of v3:
  • Dat updated up to dump #0052.
  • Duplicates are referenced.
  • All game covers
  • Some game Icons, official Icon's pictures from Nintendo's Japan. (icon example).
  • No auto-update (dat or images).

  • Bugs from Offline List:
  • I added a lot of tags and informations in the dat, but Offline list can't read them all so I commented the incompatible tags.
  • Offline list 0.7.3 beta2 is not compatible with 32bit array to store the correct ROM size.
The Maximum accepted rom size is 2147483647bits, but the current bigger 3DS rom is 2147483648 (2GB). I used 2147483647bits (1.99GB) for Offline Line, and commented the real size. both are inside the dat so it's easy to find the correct value.
  • Offline list 0.7.3. beta2 doesn't have all languages. Missing language : Russian, Korean, Canadian (though, it's more like fr-CA).
    Missing languages per title's number:
    Canadian : #0052
    Russian : #0005, #0016
    Korean : #0038
  • Offline list accept only two pictures (im1CRC and im2CRC), I changed the picture size I had on the dat v2 to show only the Game Icon and the Game cover. I kept the informations for the internal game screenshot size at the end of the dat if required.

Information about the data I added:
  • I miss a lot of "Maker code" (the code for the publishers). I don't have the ROMs to check the header in 3DSExplorer.
I didn't fill the code when I'm not sure, for example there are two SEGA publishers : "SEGA" and "SEGA Japan".
  • I didn't find all the game's Icons on Nintendo's website. If you have them, please complete the image pack.
I think it's better to keep the "icoCRC" reserved for the real dumped icon from the rom, not the one from nintendo's website. I added the "icoCRC" tag in prevision, so I won't have to add this tag to all the games later.
  • I didn't add any URL for auto-update (dat or image) because I don't want to store the pictures or get many queries on my own website, so I made an image pack instead.

  • Here are the available tags inside the dat:
    green = full
    orange = partial
red = not filled at all

    imageNumber
    releaseNumber
    Title

    publisherCode
    publisher
    genre
    version
    wifi

    location
    language
    sourceRom
    (The release group)
    romSize
    dumpdate
    dirName
    fileName
    titleID
    serial
    romCRC
    romMD5
    romSHA1

icoCRC (the Icon CRC is the same thing as im1CRC. read the info above about the icons)
    im1CRC
    im2CRC
    nfoCRC
    comment
(Comment is used for the 4 digit ROM number)
    duplicateID

  • Thanks to:
  • Pong20302000 for keeping the list up to date.
  • PsyKopaT for http://scene.releases.free.fr (I'm using your covers and converted them to png. It's not direct linked so I guess it's fine, but if not let me know, I'll remove the image pack.)
  • http://www.ludibria.com and http://datomatic.no-intro.org for the additional releases informations and nfo files.

A very big thanks for this. I'm happily using it ^_^

Found a little error:

Game #13 "Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell 3D" has a wrong CRC

I fixed it myself in this file. Would be great if you could change it to "F73BDD7B" in v4 in a future release later on. That's the correct one!!

Of course, that would be great :)
OfflineList 0.7.3 beta2 has many flaws, and is a dead project.

What would be great is making a GUI for that Dat.
What would be even greater, is making a GUI for all existing Dats without limitations (image number, tags number, etc.)

A program which would allow new added xml tags if needed, not predetermined ones.
If you don't know NDSCRC I suggest you take a look, it's based on a similar dat (I included almost all info from the NDS offlinelist dat).

If you need more information about the dat or what could be useful in the GUI, we can talk about it in private.
Also, make a separate topic.

Edit:
Oh, another super usefull tool would be a dat manager (creator).
Add new field in the GUI, set a name, value, etc. and it add that tag to all games in the xml instead of using notepad to edit.

Maybe just use the same GUI with an option "editor mode ON/OFF".
I have lot of ideas (visual and internal features) but I lack software programing skills for computer to make it myself.
I know only Xul and Gecko (firefox GUI language).

hm just create them into GUI have many choices to pick, using HTML5+javascript is OK (since html5 is powerfull for create a list on you web browser), PHP (is bad idea for offline since is need server service on you windows), JAVA (is good one since is crossplatform), another language programming (C#,delphi or another) and last GUI framework like flash, silverlight and ect.....

uh about editor mode on/off i suggest just bring a edit button and done button...

guy i already updated now

i get the files and check myself so you dont need to post all the info

just titles will do

unless you have the file and have checked the info yourself posting it all is not needed

also please note that http://scene.releases.free.fr have got a wrong piece of info also

and you most likely all got your info from there as there is a key piece of info that you all posted that they do but i and the scene posts do not

Tried making a small tool, but apparently im not that good, it doesn't seem to work that well, I will keep trying :)

    Yeah but not like this.

It's not like they're complaining that their Slurpee is 99% ice or something, but if the cocktail calls for "shot of vodka, shot of vermouth, shot of gin, shot of Campari, three shots of juice, squirt of lemon" and ends up being a thimbleful of booze, that's a problem.

    Maybe.

There was a comparison of the number of Ibuprofen poisonings before and after they limited the maximum dosage per box or per pill (i'll look that up). No limit on the number of boxes you can still buy as many as you want, so people argued it was pointless.
  • Veho @ Veho:
But the number of (accidental) poisonings dropped because drinking an entire package of ibuprofen pills went from "I need a new liver" to "I need a new box of Ibuprofen".
  • Veho @ Veho:
Here we have ketoprofen that used to be prescription-only because of the risk of toxic dosages, but then they halved the dose per pill and sell them in bottles of six pills apiece instead of twenty and it doesn't need a prescription any more. Yes you can buy more than one bottle but people simply don't.
