thanks for the advice Mr. Quantumcat,

Okay... so using the new SD card (with all the files copied to it from the old one) I changed the theme to nullify the menuhax, then successfully used the soundhax to boot into the homebrew launcher 2.0 by following the guide exactly. Next, I ran the udsploit successfully. The problem I have now is that when I go to run safehax it always freezes. I restarted the system multiple times like the guide suggests and after 10 tries I even used the safehax r19 like the guide says and the same thing happens.

I seem to be making progress though, got any suggestions on how to proceed further?
Since you're on 9.2 you shouldn't need udsploit - try safehax on its own without running udsploit. My memory is a little fuzzy on installing by the homebrew launcher, but you could also try finding a 3dsx version of SafeB9SInstaller, since you are on a low enough version to not need extra stuff to run it
Edit: you can also try https://3ds.hacks.guide/installing-boot9strap-(browser) I am pretty sure it will work. If it doesn't, let me know so I'll remember for future.

Ok, so first of all hello guys. I just signed up to ask a question about my N3DS running CFW on 11.6 with the latest Luma3DS version. I do own 3 Flashcards (R4i Gold 3DS, M3 DS Real clone and a R4 Upgrade Revolution for DS). The R4i Gold works flawlessly(used it to flash CFW). However the other two Cards dont work since they are old DS Cards.
So my question is: Is there a way to make these other 2 cards work? (Idk if the R4 card is a clone aswell, since theres no link written on it. On the M3 card it says: M3adaptes which is a clone)

Thx in advance

hello really need some help here. I just bought a r4i-b9s from nds-card website and I did all the steps as per the guide stated.
copied SafeB9SInstaller.firm and renamed it to boot.firm
copied boot.3dsx,
created boot9strap folder and copied in boot9strap.firm and boot9strap.firm.sha
put the sdcard back into my 3ds.
off the 3ds, place the magnet below B.
hold start, select, X and power button.
It boot into sleep mode.
From my main menu, the flashcart not being shown (from what I saw from other posts, this seems normal for NTRboot),
so does it mean the flashcart is faulty? I cannot think of other reasons

Try holding the button combination without power, then pressing power briefly. And keep the other buttons held down for a few seconds before releasing.

just tested, briefly press the power button until the blue light appears, then I let go the power button while having the other 3 buttons held down.
saw the back light appears, then I release all the buttons, it is in sleep mode.
remove the magnet, and it back into the main menu :(

Can you test that each button individually works? Otherwise it sounds like your ntrboot card is not flashed properly.

Actually I already thought of that haha. All those buttons are working fine.
So now it is all about having a faulty flashcart.
Is there any way I can reflash the ntrboot myself without a hacked 3ds?
Cant believe this actually happened on a pre-flashed r4i-b9s

Hello All,
I would really appreciate your insight on this.
I think I successfully followed the 3ds hacks guide to installing Boot9strap from stock 11.6.0-39, 'tho nothing appears any different on a normal startup.
However, I stupidly neglected to copy my old 2Gb sd card to a freshly formatted 32Gb micro sd replacement before starting the process.
What I would like to know is whether a blank sd affected the outcome and whether the old card's contents are now incompatible with the new card, assuming of course the process did work.
Thanks in advance.

if you place the 32GB SD in your computer, does it have a "Nintendo 3DS" folder on it?

I think he asks if there were any necessary files from the system itself on the sd card.

As far as i know ur CFW is installed on the console itself and there shudnt be any "important" files for the system, on the sd card, to work. Im not 100% sure though

Yes it does. I think I had assumed the unit would format all automatically 'tho I had forgotten about games etc
when you do place a blank SD card it, it is formatted and the 3ds creates required files, if you want to keep it fresh without your other content, you will just need to place a boot.3dsx and boot.firm on the SD card, and follow the finalizing setup again

So finalizing is the part where you create a cias folder etc?
I presume it wouldn't be a good idea to copy the old card now then, but the games would be ok?
Also, as I don't have a device to compare it with, should it appear unchanged unless using Start/Power On combo?

if you copy your old card, you wont need to do any finalizing,

just delete the Nintendo 3DS on the 32GB SD, then copy the old SD card to the new one
