So, if I buy a R4i Gold and I keep the 2.0 firmware(which should be 100% safe, right?) I should be able to launch roms and spoof firmware right? However, does the spoof work for everything (roms, cards)?

Just to know if I can play a legit copy of Pokemon, in case.

No it's not entirely true, it launches roms and do firmware spoof but only for the roms not retail cards.

So no he can't play a retail pokemon card.

You would have to use 3.0 to play a legitimate Pokemon Cartridge.

i think 2.0 for clones doesn't have support for 5.0+ SDK games like Zelda LBW and Batman AO

By the way is it ok to update the emunand on 2.0b1 in order to access the eshop? I want to download the zelda game for free (im afraid my chances trying 2.0b2 will kill me ) or can i downooad zelda with the emunand I already have which is the version right before the latest update

You can't access the eShop on 2.0B1, only 2.0B2. So if you want that fantastic Zelda promotion, you'll have to risk a brick.

Not really bad, but it's not good.

If you have a 4.1 3DS and you're using 2.0B1, then firmware spoofing doesn't work. I suggest updating using a ROM that can take your 3DS to 4.2-4.5, but nothing over 4.5.

Would people stop flippin out? I went with 2.0b1 for about 10 minutes and then got tired of not having region free. I've updated to b2 and haven't looked back. Every now and then, it may freeze while booting into GW mode, but it works fine. Gateway made clear that you only have to worry about a brick if you're using a modified launcher. Do some whippits and relax

If you have a 4.1 3DS and you're using 2.0B1, then firmware spoofing doesn't work. I suggest updating using a ROM that can take your 3DS to 4.2-4.5, but nothing over 4.5.

If you want region free on 2.0B1, don't install Emunand. You can still play all those newer SDK games, without 6.X+ firmware.

Enjoy your chance of bricking on 2.0B2, though. Sounds fun.
