i'm curious to find out if removing the battery clears any part that is holding the 99% transfer or some pointer to it.

might be worth a try before you stay on hold with nintendo for an hour.

i should have mentioned it on my first post, i did try that. i tried doing the button thing to go to calibration screen, and it didnt work, probably has to do with only certain dsi? ill post pics of my dsi and my dsi serial number just in case

I don't see why people are freaking out. My DSi didn't have the app appear at first, but eventually they updated it and it worked fine. You should be fine during the transfer. I turned my DSi off before the transfer twice because I thought Sudokuhax was going to be transferred. I'm fine.

USA DSi to 3DS transfer worked, but it took about 15 tries.

I had around 6 DSiWare titles to transfer, then the photos and sounds. At first I thought, complete transfer would be easier. That failed nearly instantly. An error has occurred. Not a problem, I'll do them one at a time, starting with Shantae. Failed. Was able to resume. Had to repeat this process, including restarting both devices, multiple times, took about 45 minutes total. The DSi titles are now removed from my DSi and are functioning just fine on my 3DS. All the pictures and sounds transferred. Somehow the photos are still on the DSi, even though I could have sworn the warning told me it would delete them as well on the original device. Odd that the Domo Music game was one of the ones that couldn't be transferred.

people (like me are) are freaking out because of bricking of the dsi. but its really few cases of this happening so far. it would be good that it were just that the app didnt show up at first. but dsi doesnt even boot up

well australian users are having problems too (though not as bad as a brick)
when we download it it doesn't show in sysmenu and cannot be deleted (even with a system format) as well as "important news" in the dsi shop showing nothing

I rung them yesterday. They've fixed the app since then. Ive downloaded it again and transferred the DSiWare just fine.

Okay, count me in as one who has had this problem...

I have yet to see an American reporting this problem, so let me be the first. So, as far as I know, I didn't do anything to get this issue to happen-- I was not messing around with firmware, I had the latest update, etc. All I wanted to do was move my DSi ware games to the 3DS.

Now, there is one thing that might make my experience difference than others, and that is that I have very poor Internet. Other than that, I can't think of anything else that might have made this error occur on my DSi and not on anyone else's... I also had quite a few games, and had to delete some things to get memory for the transfer application.

So anyway, I try to download it, I wasn't really paying attention-- my DSi shop disconnects frequently, I am used to having to retry several times. Sure enough, at some point in the download, it has an error-- I think it was close to done, too. Anyway, when I turn my DSi back on, I get this error-- and no matter what I do, I am stuck at that. I can't do anything, not get to the menu, not anything-- as soon as it starts up, it gets the error. So, I am stuck, and hoping that someone can find a solution. If I take my battery out, will I keep my DSi games? Might that solve this? I am not very experienced in problems like this, and I honestly do not know anything I can do. Should I just give up and call Nintendo?

(By the way, when I was updating, I had nothing in my DSi: no game in the game slot, no SD card in the SD slot. Nothing. Also, mine is the DSi, not XL.)

I don't really post on forums very often at all, but this problem has caused me enough stress that I have made an exception for it. I'll do anything I can to help find a solution... I had a great deal of games on my DSi and I really would not want to lose all of them... This is the only place I have seen this problem even mentioned at all, so I decided to add my voice into the mix, saying that this is, indeed, a problem that does happen. Why, I don't know, but it does happen...
