Gaming 3DS DSiWare Transfer Damaged My DSi?!

This doesn't make any sense.

It doesn't allow you to get past the option to select DSiware unless you have both of the systems doing it at the same time, interacting with each other.

There is no way you could "just dick around" with the DSi without a 3DS to transfer stuff to. It's physically impossible.

Fuck. I was in a rush to leave, let me find my post real quick regarding how this thing works...

I don't believe the OP because of the fact I did this myself, and like I said it won't allow you to get past the point to transfer stuff unless you bypass the check for both system being connected via internet on both ends.

Also... my tranfer was interrupted in the middle of it. On the 3DS it gave me the option to continue, and the DSi just had the DSiware title (Birds & Beans) DELETED. Just so you guys know...

that's what I thought too

Quote myself at this point:

Transfer tool boots up
Transfer to 3DS
Terms and conditions
Send From this system
(3DS select DSi transfer, accept T&C)
(then select Receive from DSi)
Select 3DS name to transfer content to on DSi
(Pick yes on the 3DS)
Full Transfer=>tranfer EVERYTHING (erases 3DS wifi config for DS games, be careful)
Custom Transfer
Select between Wifi config, Photos and recordings, and DSiware
DSiware individually displayed, choose which one
Any updated software is warned to be updated upon transfer
Select yes, transfer, wait, blah blah blah.

Pats in parentheses are where it checks for response from the 3DS. it stops you and errors you on the DSi if the 3DS does not respond in time.

iluvfupaburgers, are you saying you bricked from when you were downloading the app? Your post is not clear at all as to what you're talking about.

Once again, I have had DSiware titles be interrupted during download and they just allow you to do it again, and don't save it to the system. No brick, out of the 3 times it's happened to me.

This all sounds kinda fishy.

I wonder if Sudoku by EA (sudokuhax) will be a blacklisted blocked title??

Schlupi, read the first post more carefully. This happened when he was downloading the transfer program from the DSi shop in the first place.

Just a fun fact: one of the DSiware apps in question that I had interrupted WAS the Transfer tool as well (last night Nintendo had crashes galore on the eshop/dsiware store).

It did the same thing; crashed at about 90-95 percent, errored, had me turn it off, and it was fine, I just did it again (after making a few attempts at opening the shop).

I don't see how two people could do the same exact thing and produce different results with the same variables.

@ stanleyopar2000: They prompt you when sneding it that it's going to be updated, and be replaced with the patched one. In otherwords you keep it on your DSi OR just send it and have regular Sudoku. at least they don't replace it from your DSi regardless after running the app.

I know you're not a programmer, so I'm just going to say "there's a FUCKTON more variables going on in the background than you ever even think about".

EDIT: Examples?
Region. You're US, they mention UK and the OP is from Euc.
Settings.
Strings (name, custom saying).
Various flags (favorite color).
And this is without going into the technical backend, such as installed titles on the NAND and all that shit.

so are you saying the transfer tool download stopped at 99%??
yeah, thats what im saying
Maybe your internet turned off at the last minute? I know that sounds weird, but it's a possibility.

Good point. I do some programming but I don't know how

Well... I am off. O hope this is resolved somehow, I can't stay to chat got stuff to do. Wish you the best of luck, OP.

I did transfer Rayman and Sokomanix without problems.

(so also downloaded the dsiware without problems)

EU DSI

I also bricked my DSi. Here is a link to an YouTube-Video I made.
Here.
I downloaded the tool but then my DSi (Europe) switched off. So the download wasn't succesful.
Hmmm.

European DSi, I was downloading that transfer tool, and it fucked up on about 90% of download, ok, I think, the DSiShop servers must be overloaded, let's click restart and try again, I did so, and now I have that error message right after boot, I wonder how nintendo will try to fix it.
