Yes it is safe, as long as you make sure you are in emuNAND when you update

Weird, I was always told that you need to use 11.0 payloads on 11.0, which is what I did with freakyhax when I downgraded my 11.0 New Galaxy Style N3DS.
So I guess it should work too (same way). anyway, I have to wait one more day, because I downgraded another console 6 days ago.

But why people updated to 11.1?
The first rule its dont update.

Its possible to downgrade 11.0 without update it to 11.1
Those who already have emuNAND or A9LH CFW sysNAND have no problem updating as the still retain a majority of their exploits. The only thing we lost so far was HBL cia and NTR, but HBL cia was fixed within 24 hours of the update coming out, and NTR can be fixed by using the latest version of BootNTR and an 11.0 firmware.bin.
So for CFW users are generally always safe to update.
It's the OFW users who have to worry.

Dude. I was only talking about OFW 11.0 users. A lot of peoples updated to 11.1 even those was planning to downgrade. If was your plan to dsi downgrade why update to 11.1 and make things more complicated

Generally the process is the same. And within a week they will have to update anyway in order to system transfer, so if they weren't planning or unable to downgrade this week then they would have had to update anyway

Sorry for ask again, just to be sure...
What i maybe lost if i update my emuNAND (Luma).

HBL Launcher (.cia) stop works?
The 3ds will still boot direct to emunand?
FBI/freeShop/etc. anything i will lose?

Any game/dlc/save will be lost?

Thanks!

if you're using MenuHax, the emuNAND will be updated, not the sysNAND, so the boot to emuNAND will still works.

HBL .cia still works, Freeshop and FBI too, DLC, saves, games...

Better question: Why would you worry now?

To many "do not update" in this thread i guess...
And i caught the train late, so there is many pages to read to to understand this "do not update" thing.

Thanks for the answer.

Hbl Cia has updated payloads so it works now, and everything else other than NTR shouldn't be affected

Alright so I have a problem... I have an "unclean" Homemenu... And I am unsure what to do because the last time I did this, I remembered thag I had to flash an old backup to before the modified one was installed and I no longer have that backup...

Huh... No. 10.7 went to 11.0. Isn't the 11 the major version and 0 the minor? There are times where you must change major and times when you change minor. It's not like after 9.9 there can't be a 9.10.

Basically what I'm trying to say.

Just back up your nand before you update, and if you can, find a way to dump the home menu cia (or app)

By any chance is there a tool to help with homemenu mods? I turned my 3ds on after a few months of not using it, saw the update and went on here as soon as it showed up. Im just hoping there is...

It's been the same as it has been since the original "guide" was written.
