Well, then you're certainly excused. I was talking about the people who still use DS-X exclusively and have tested games/savegames/etc with 1.1.3.

I asked Scorpei for the authorisation to update the list with this "unofficial firmware". No response yet.
Since this is a special kind of release, maybe the DS-X compatibility list's contributors should wait a bit before they update it.
By "a bit", I mean time for the DS-X Team to fully test their customers's patience.

I'd say to continue updating it, even with the 1.1.3. We all know 1.1.2 and below will not work with basically all new games, minus a few here and there, so if people are actually going to take time to update things, may as well update it. I might add that putting something like 1.1.3b or making it known it's the beta release would be nice, but it should still be updated since it hasn't been getting much love for the past few months.

I already started using 1.1.3b (and converted all 1.1.3 to 1.1.3b) earlier today. Keep updating =]

You don't need Scorpei's "permission". It's a community wiki, by the community for the community!

EDIT: To clarify, the wiki is actually useful to me. I am not wanting it to be updated just for the sake of "completeness" or whatever.

Maybe we could change "need arm7fix" to "update to leaked firmware that they won't release"?

Rabid1 himself said that there's nothing wrong with the firmware and he recommended that it should be released, somehow I agree with him.

obviously no one has posted about any problems or anything out of the ordinary at least. This is far better than any of the other firmwares out there, so might as well go with it. Just one more reason the ds-x team needs to leave the scene. Drop the bullshit and move on.

Figured I'd add my experiences to the mix. Obviously I wouldn't recommend the DS-X to anyone who was looking for a new card, but I'm "in the boat" of people trying to get the most and best out of a current card.

1.1.3 has been great. Every game I've tried, including about 10 from the post-ARM7 change, has worked flawlessly. I upgraded from 1.0.2 because other newer updates scared the **** out of me.

Here are the very small number of things I've noted after the upgrade.
- Worms 2 had graphical distortion while a save is being created, but it did before also, and gameplay is not affected.
- Geometry Wars wouldn't load for me, but I've since read that always needed insta-boot for whatever reason
- Zelda works flawlessly, Advance Wars and Professor Layton also. I've fired up about 7-8 other games just to test, and no obvious problems.
- No older saves (again, I was coming from 1.0.2) got corrupted or lost, all work fine
- I didn't have any ARM7 patched game saves to try with unpatched versions, but others here have reported no problems.

- Loading up the DS-X seems to take ever-so-slightly longer than under 1.0.2 (just by observation) but that is in no way a problem. Given the horror stories of other firmware versions I have no complaints. Saving of EPPROM also seems a tad longer, but again, that's a very unscientific observation by me.

- Using the skin from 1.1.2 has been pretty nice. This could just be coincidence, but the only problem I've ever experienced with 1.1.3 was after I changed a number of settings in skin 1.1.2 (like LED lights, etc). The next time I plugged the DS-X into my laptop to change files, it was not recognized and at that point the apps folder stopped working on the DS itself, also. It took a reformat of the card (but not another firmware upgrade) to fix it. Personally, I believe this to be coincidence, but I can't really account for why it happened. I'm not going to mess with anything again until after I've finished playing a few games.

So again, I'm not suggesting that anyone run out and buy a DS-X now... but if you already have a card this update gets it working in tip-top (ha!) shape.

It's been over two weeks since the last "weekly update", seems like they couldn't even commit to that. All they have to do is write a little something every seven days but they don't even care for that anymore, more lies and deception.

1.1.3 is working just fine, no one has reported any major problem, they could very well release it as a beta for testing but once again, they don't care. I'm starting to think that maybe the firmware was leaked on purpose and they have no intention of releasing it. Firmware or no firmware, it won't affect the sales. It would only be nice for the people who already own the cart, and we know very well that they don't give a sh!t about us. They are not trying to improve the situation, they are just trying to sell the remaining carts from the last batch.

It would not be a surprise if 1.1.3 never get released, if it doesn't put money in their pockets, why should they bother? This is their only chance at making thing better but...

THEY DON'T CARE

I'm unsure about the savegame file size... I *might* have a few old saves I could compare things too, but again, after updating from 1.0.2 all my old saves have worked flawlessly.

Like an above poster said, I've got a gut feeling that 1.1.3 may never "officially" be released, but so far (to the best of my knowledge) it has remained available for users to install. If I had to guess perhaps they've put it out there, with the expectation that people will "unofficially" start using it. Perhaps this keeps them out of some kind of legal trouble. Regardless, I haven't seen a single reason *not* to upgrade to 1.1.3 yet.

Ok, I have a problem with 1.1.3, or rather my gfs brothers have one, as it is their DSX...
They live a bit too far away, so I can't get my hands on it personally, and have to do support by MSN. It used to be my DSX, but I gave it to them and bought a cyclo instead. I wish they could as well, as all the problems with it is giving me headaches.

A little while ago it crashed, and they got a white screen when trying to load the DSX. We got it up and running again by updating to the 1.3-firmware, and it worked decently for a good while. They did have some freezes here and there, but it worked.
Now it's crashed again, same thing iirc. They try to load the DSX, get the DSX logo on the top screen and bottom screen is white (can't remember if they got the logo on top screen last time).
I was thinking to hell with all this and downgrade to 1.1.0, as it seemed to work just fine back in the days when I first got it.
Problem is that I can't seem to get Shunys downgrader to recognize the DSX, and I'm thinking it might be because his downgrader is meant to be for 1.1.2?

The PC recognizes the card by the way, but I think after they got the problem and hooked the card up to the PC, it was blank. They then did a format on the card.
Any suggestions?

Yeah, stop referring to this as a "problem with 1.1.3" when it isn't. Search the official forums for "white screen of death" if you want to e,n.l-a.r,g.e y,o.ur kn,o.w-l.e,dge.

if the pc recognise it and the dsx show a white screen, then mainly it hangs at loading the skin files.
now recopy them on the card and avoid using old homebrew version of dsorganise or else which corrupt the files.
hope it works for you

Thanks for the reply jackkill. I already told them to do that, and it works... for now.

And pbolmstedt, you don't really have to be such a jackass. I didn't say it was a problem with 1.1.3, I was asking if it is. The real problem was using Shuny's downgrader, not that they got a white screen. Since Shuny's downgrader is made for 1.1.2, I was asking if it is supposed to work with 1.1.3 as well.

The question still remains, do Shuny's downgrader work with 1.1.3? It seems not to on "my" DSX.

EDIT: I posted this in Shuny's own forums as well, and he has now fixed it so that it works with 1.1.3 as well.
Merci Shuny, you are ever so excellent

Sorry, I didn't mean to be a jackass. I just didn't want you to think this was a problem with 1.1.3. The "white screen" problem is the most common, and seems to be able to appear out of the blue on any firmware.

Ok, slight misunderstanding then. Thanks for the replies

So I experienced first problems with 1.1.3.With Ninja Gaiden, I had about 8 hours play time and then the save suddenly reverted to a previous one at 2hours of play time. Now it doesn't save at all
