So I experienced first problems with 1.1.3.With Ninja Gaiden, I had about 8 hours play time and then the save suddenly reverted to a previous one at 2hours of play time. Now it doesn't save at all

Did you take the cart out and put another one in? I took my Ds-x out and then put my CycloDs in, later I found some save files from Ds-x on my CycloDS, I didn't look much into it, I think that things get messed up when you take out/put back the Ds-x cart. I heard Pokemon is OK now, I hope so because I sold it to some kid. Hope this help...

as for ninja gaiden with the firmware1.1.3. you shouldnt use autostart and load only the game till you finish it :-(
apparently the game fools the dsx into thinking that it didnt save again appart from the first save. so all the new saves are on the eeprom only and not backed to .SAV. in other words keep playing only it till you finish it because loading another of your backup will erase the eeprom.
PS: the game not that hard or long , YOU CAN DO IT! :-p

Or buy another cart! You will never look back, took me months to save up for a Cyclo but the satisfaction of selling my Ds-x is a better feeling than doing heroin

I also though that the problem describe by Jackill was the same as the issues with Pokemon, I read here that the saving issue was resolve with Pokemon, maybe it's something different.

Sorry, but if the save data "reaches" the DS-X EEPROM then the game is saving properly. It is a DS-X problem not being able to:

a. Create a valid .SAV file from EEPROM contents on reboot, or
b. Read data from the .SAV file

a. can be checked by trying to load an uncompressed (RAW) DS-X .SAV file on emulator when the problem arises and before rebooting the DS-X again (to avoid overwritting it with old data).

After verifying the .SAV on emulator, that means that the DS-X is having problems reading the .SAV in compressed format (because the data within is good), This can be confirmed by using that same .SAV in RAW format on the DS-X. If it loads, the problem is the save compression.

My Guess is that the other game games calls for a complete rewrite of the save or (maybe updated time stamp),which ninja gaiden does not. since tecmo ninja team are so great at programing (ninja gaiden xbox is a jewel :-) ) I think they update only the new few bit that changed when resaving (fast n smart) . but the (i use fw1.1.3) DS-X team also optimized their save function by only backing the eeprom if and only if there was a (complete?)rewrite or updated time stamp, which make the NINJA GAIDEN dilemma (smart + smart = dumb :-p )happens.

just updated mine to 1.1.3 and no beta is listed on the info on my ds screen say ds-xtreme os 1.1.3 maybe its not beta anymore.
