yes my hard drive is a 2.5 toshiba, it's not a box, and therefore it is powered by usb cable with y-crossing. I only have it on a hard drive or it's a small usb key. some say it's better a hard drive with an external power supply except that I don't have one, and this hdd I'm talking about it cost me 60€ new a few days ago so it can hurt to buy another one just for the wiiu

Ok thank you. however I know that for gamecube games it is not possible on the same hard disk containing the wiiu games because not the same format, for gamecube games I can put on my 128go sd which is formatted in fat32? if yes it will not be too worn my sd if I play games on it? it's a samsing evo sd. then I don't know how to put nintendont but maybe I will end up finding it, but that's another subject

Ive used a USB on nintendont on a wii. should work fine on your HDD
except you didn't understand, I said that the hard drive would be used for wiiu games, so it won't work with nintendont because for gamecube it's fat32, and when the wiiu is formatted the hard drive isn't fat32. so i don't have a second hard drive, i have two choices left for nintendont either a 128gb sd or a 32gb usb key, namely on the lifespan which lasted the longest?

After 1 day where everything worked fine with my external hard drive, the next day I receive the error code 160-2713 on all games, yet since yesterday nothing has changed, and my Y cable is still well connected, even changed its usb port did not solve the problem

on google full of people we had this problem it seems even after 1 month except that it lasted 1 day for me and with the same hard drive and cable there.

what a delicate crap console, I tried moving several games to the nand but being only 32go I couldn't put everything.

If its just gc or older, you CAN try a regular old wii. should work fine

Might be a power issue. Try connecting the power only end of the Y cable to a powerfull wall charger. Also try another SATA to USB adapter.

There's actually a third option: Using Teconmoons Injector to transform the gamecube games to Wii U titles. That way you can install them to the Wii U formatted HDD just fine and even play them with the gamepad. ;)

I'm using with a y-cable to play with wup for install as working fine, but then started getting error 160-2713, drive was not getting enough power. I used other y-cable thinking that might be the issue but the problem persists. Then with the new y-cable, I even tried plugging in the usb 3.0 port into the wii u and the power usb cable to usb wall power adapter and still getting the same error.

edit: my drive is "new" and working good in my pc, is canvio from toshiba

well, if you initialized, there's your problem. though, it should've required a reformat on the system.
