I downloaded an NTSC copy of Silent Hill:Shattered Memories. I ran it from the disc channel and it asked me to update and I did so( I have a PAL wii and I know I was really foolish to do so). When I boot my wii, nothing comes up on the screen, it's as if its not there.... there's no sound as well, not even the health warning screen. How do I fix this?

What I don't have:
1) An Infectus Mod chip
2) BootMii
3) Priiloader

What I have:
1) A Bricked Wii
2) Homebrew Channel

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

EDIT: I don't have a NAND backup and I live in India and I don't think I'll find an Infectus expert here.

EDIT 2: I got my Wii late in 2007.

EDIT 3: mauifrog, are you an idiot? When did I say that I ever downgraded my wii? Ugh, I'll repeat myself: WHEN DID I SAY THAT I DOWNGRADED OR PULLED THE PLUG DURING AN UPDATE? If you don't know something don't speak and judge others' answers.

EDIT 4: Will universal unbrick disk v4 and savemiifrii work with this gc controller: http://www.daydeal.com/files/i11/wii_twin_shock_controller.jpg

EDIT 5: Tried savemiifrii, didn't work! I don't want to get an infectus. Is there any other way?

You are screwed.

If you have a NAND backup you should look for an infectus expert to reflash your wii. If you don't have one I think you lost your wii.

I think you Wii is gone...I done know if there is a way you could unbrick it without bootmii or some kind of Boot 2 thing...I know when I bricked my wii I just loaded up bootmii and restored it from my last NAND backup....and that was days before I just DECIDED to install it. I had no intention to get bootmii...

If you do find away to fix this or even if you are force to get a new Wii....Get Bootmii cause it can be a life saver.

This is a failed downgrade upgrade brick. Your wii is fully bricked and can not be recovered without bootmii boot2 install or nand reprogramming.

You have apparently downgraded your wii to 3.2, and in the process neglected to remove the stubbed system ios50-v5120 sitting above 3.2. Unfortunately when your wii was updated from disc to SM 3.4, that stubbed system ios50-v5120 was not replaced with ios50-v4889 which is needed to load SM 3.4. This results in the wii loading this non-functional stubbed ios50 at boot, resulting in a full brick. This is a failed downgrade upgrade brick.

The only way to fix this brick is with boot2 bootmii installed, then installing the ios50-v4889. Without boot2 bootmii it can only be fixed with a nand programmer on any wii that would support a boot2 bootmii install. Newer wiis that do not support boot2 bootmii install can only be reprogrammed if you have the nand keys to the bricked wii. Newer wiis without the nand keys can not be reprogrammed and are not fixable.

When downgrading your wii, it is very very important to remove the stubbed system ios files the reside over your downgraded system menu. By removing these stubbed system ios files you can prevent bricking your wii in such a stupid way.

We should never update from disc for many reasons. Bricking is one of them. It is best to follow the standard practice of preventing updates to the wii. This should always be done to avoid updates from disc. The simplest way is to install priiloader to block disc updates to the system. You can also remove the disc update from the disc before burning it.

You can use the savemii free method, with a gc controller. you need to push some buttons before turns on the wii. then in the corner you see the actual system. So you can download the IOS and the System menu of you region and install with wad manager autoboot in dvd. Look for tutorials and good lock :) I hope I can help.

Commander: Soldier, Recite the steps to savemii or savemiifrii
Soldier: SIR, YES SIR
1. GET A GAMECUBE CONTROLLER OR A SAVEMII!
2. IF YOU CHOOSE THE GAMECUBE CONTROLLER, TAKE AWAY THE DPAD. SKIP THIS STEP IF YOU HAVE A SAVEMII! THIS STEP IS OPTIONAL!
3. IF YOU CHOOSE THE GAMECUBE CONTROLLER, PLUG IT IN TO SLOT FOUR! SKIP THIS STEP IF YOU HAVE A SAVEMII!
4. INSERT A GAME WITH A HIGHER FIRMWARE, LIKE SSBB OR NSMBW!
5. TURN ON YOUR WII!
6. IF YOU ARE USING A GAMECUBE CONTROLLER DO THIS IF NOT, SKIP THIS STEP! IF YOU DID STEP 2, PRESS ALL OF THE D-PAD BUTTONS! IF NOT, PRESS REAL HARD IN THE CENTER OF THE D-PAD!
5. ENJOY YOUR UNBRICKED WII, SIR!

croagunk.master I am no idiot, I have two wii and would never do something so stupid as brick them. You are either an idiot who downgraded his wii without even knowing it, or your an idiot who was stupid enough to pull the plug during an update. Your also an idiot for not installing boot2 bootmii since your wii most likely supported this. Everything I have told you is spot on, and you are indeed screwed. You can try savemii/savemiifrii, but it will not work.

( Hielkenator: You downgraded by updating your wii System menu.

^How the f*** do you do that?

croagunk.master you are a dumbass. )

If you don't know shit about the Wii, you ask these questions.
I'll explain:

For example, if you have SM 4.1E on your Wii and you can run other region games on you PAL wii, and insert a disc containing other region SM updates, The disc wants to update. Even if the firmware on the disc is lower. So if you update, you are actually downgrading to another region. SIMPLE. Without bootmii you are screwed.
