as far as i know there is only a Japanese release, but there is a fan translation for it [ here ] on gbatemp by DrgnMasterKota

pushed another 130 icons, including eshop retail style covers
that games it over 600 icons that are just game covers which bumps vertical icons over 1100

I've started making icons for homebrew forwarders for the vertical icon theme while they are correctly sized they may not work with NX-GIC due to various titleIDs you may need to change the title id manually.

Great guide thanks, editing the name/author dosent seem to effect the sorting when you sort games by publisher, is there a way to get the switch to sort using your custom info?

I'm not quite sure what you mean but icons should be sorted by game title.
Each category should be correct barring any title I've named incorrectly.

Originally I wasnt so Zelda would be under Z.

I'm now renaming files the best I can, the naming convention should follow:

Game-name-iconnumber-[titleID].jpg.

Example:
The-legend-of-zelda-botw-icon001-[01007EF00011E000].jpg

Now we are unable to sort titles on the switch to this exact format but it should if you sort by alphanumeric.

If you need to check titleID there are a few homebrew apps that can show the tid.

dbi.nro or tinfoil.nro

I use tinfoil to find tid of titles of homebrew forwarders.

I think because this renames on the fly when you sort it still places the game in the order of the original game name

Hi @SodaSoba , I've just tried out the vertical themes and I must say I really like them, so I added your icons to them, may I request two things?

First: what about uploading your layout to themezer, so users could more easily modify/create existing themes?
Second: I know it's a lot - and of course I'm not demanding anything -, so here's the list of games I currently own which as of now don't have vertical icons, would be awesome if they could be added some time.

As For themezer I'll look into it I have put all my json files & psd into a new repo

I've just added the theme without the purple background using f0f0f0 as the main color to that repo too.

the game list I'll get working on it ASAP and try push a comit once I've finished the list (1 day or so) and you'll be able to grab the icons by hitting [scan] on NX-GIC.

donations aren't needed or required by me at all there are much more deserving people out there than me.
my work here isn't ground breaking I'm just making icons and really @HoTsHoTz79 deserves a lot more credit than me, he made NX-GIC, he basically came up with the layout for vert/horizontal icons too all I did was modify a version of @ukiruktv project-clean.

I'll get working on the list you've given now, if you have any other requests please feel free to make them I'm happy to grow the icon repo for the themes

Regarding your purple theme I've discovered two issues:

I) if there's more than one user there's still only one icon in the top right corner (I've got three) visible
I-I) if there are more than three users, the fourth + icon will stack a line below the top right corner icon, on top of about the center of the fourth game icon (don't have a screenshot for that case, as I was about to delete the fourth user anyway, but image it over the Lumo icon)

II) the user page is difficult to read

Also, an eShop icon would be cool - but I can understand why there's none.

I just finished implementing config.ini (custom name/author) into NX-Game icon customizer and during testing i found that if i rename a game or even author, the sorting still takes the original game name/author

So unfortunately Switch OS (Horizon) does not take custom config.ini in account for sorting

@Excelsiior I've done upto deltarune so far, I'll probably finish off the icons before reapproaching the theme, the theme in all honesty was my first attempt into it and there are aspects I don't understand.
The lock screen for instance it took me a lot of attempts to get that functioning.

@cucholix I've released NX GIC 1.3.0 which implements the custom metadata mentioned in your guide

I've done 4 types of covers
but I've also got covers in german

I've still got a few more icons to make before i push them to the icon repo, now @HoTsHoTz79 has updated nx-gic I will have to update the tutorial after i finish this batch before i continue accepting requests for the repo
