Yeah, I'll send it.
I'm sorry, but who were you quoting before? Is the below quote yours or someone else's reply?

I (TurdPooCharger) did not say this. said:
Yeah, I know, 3DSBank hardbricked me too, so I stopped using it. Can you send me your script?

I caught a brief glimpse of your original draft for post #96 something about your 3DS hardbricking with a fried or scorched NAND. Do you still have the dead system in question, and if you do, can you take a picture of the motherboard with a written piece of paper that has your username and current date for proof?

I'd like to believe your 3DS was lemon manufactured with a factory defective eMMC (NAND chip) because flash memory components can and do horribly fail like this.
However, if there is even the smallest possibility your original but now edited out statement has any truth, I am also willing to stress test 3DSBank on my n3DSXL by changing between two Nintendo 3DS folders up to 100 times in a single continuous session.

I dont understand how its weird. You are dealing with electrical power. It sparks, catches fire and it burns what it catches. Its bound to happen if theres a short or fault within any electrical circuit. Not weird, just a question of when it will happen. Which showed to be sooner than later.

Yes, but there was no visible damage to the battery, and there was (very) visible damage to the NAND area of the motherboard.

You wouldn't be the first person to end up with a faulty NAND that fried itself. The 3DS NAND is a timebomb anyway thanks to TWL. If you don't patch that, it consistently makes writes to the NAND, shortening it's life.

I've read this and am curious to try, especially with the prospect of having a whole 3DS Folder just for Virtual Console games.

It's because EmuNAND is being used.
Please follow this guide to move it to SysNAND.
This is a bit concerning, as I don't have enough knowledge to know nor check whether I'm using SysNAND or not.
I have been to the website in the link several times before, first to apply the A9LH a few years back and more recently to convert A9LH to B9S.

Those steps have been completed - is it safe for me to try 3dsbank and am I using SysNAND already.

Have installed, tried it and everything works like a charm.

I would like to say that, for those on the fence, when you run 3dsbank and create a new Folder, it won't be a blank slate.
All the Folders created in your original 3DS Layout will still be there, alongside the main Nintendo System Applications and all DSiWare based applications installed, including TwiLight Menu++.

Pressing the Power Button was the best way for me to create a new Folder, because it didn't give me the extra question that the Home button does.

it works perfectly fine if i use the eshop as my homebrew launcher but health and saftey doesnt
Interestingly, I can confirm that this happens for me also.
To get Homebrew to run, it's better to use Rosalina with the E-Shop Application, apparently.

Run E-Shop, once started press L + Down + Select.
Select Miscellaneous options
Select Switch the hb. title to the current app
Once done, exit out of Rosalina, exit out of E-Shop with Home and then run E-Shop again to launch Homebrew.

Those are the parts that I didn't get before trying, so hopefully it'll help the next person.

This software could have been so much simpler to make... I made a 1 KB GM9 script that does everything that this software does, but my script also implements a movable.sed and dbs folder swap option, so you can use the Nintendo 3DS folder from another 3DS. I made this because your software hardbricked my 3DS to the point of motherboard scorching. This software is horrible!
If renaming folders on your SD card causes hardbricks, then it's probably cause your motherboard was dying. Don't blame things on Robz just cause you have bad hardware, especially considering that this software works for everyone else.

One of my later posts said that this was actually caused by a power surge. This post was apparently deleted for some reason.

All my 3DS games were in a folder, but they are all gone now. I’ve checked all 3 slots I created, can’t find them. My GBA games in folders are fine in Slot0. What am I doing wrong?

Check if any of your Nintendo 3DS folders have two (2) or more <ID1> child folders.

Are you sure you checked all slots?
3DSBank cannot delete your 3DS games.

Yes, several time. I figured they weren’t deleted, just wondering where they went. I’m sure it’s user error on my part.

Yes, I do have 2 child folders. Is that the problem?

Never mind, I miss-read I think. I only have 1 child folder. My structure looks like your screenshot.

This is an example of having two <ID1> child folders.

      • 3576300392a68d3e0b0cd6b10be062fe/
        • dbs
        • extdata
        • title

        • dbs
        • extdata
        • title
  • f45...293 is the <ID0> or parent folder.
  • 356...2fe is a <ID1> child folder.
  • 08b...aa6 is also a <ID1> child folder.
There should only be a single <ID1> inside the <ID0>. If there are two child folders, figure out which contains your games, updates, dlcs, saves, and extdata.

For further troubleshooting in case you only have one <ID1>,

Is it possible to make separate folders even if the main one doesn't reach the 300 title limit? I would love to have a separate folder for 3DS games, another for GBA, and others for VC injects.

Here an update (including source for the github) that allows custom naming of folders. Also as a quality of life upgrade, the currently active folder is selected on startup.

The custom names can be defined in 3DSBank/3DSBank.ini like so:
[3DSBANK]
SLOT_NAME_0 = Favorites
SLOT_NAME_1 = More Fav.
SLOT_NAME_2 = Homebrew Games
etc....

Cheers!

I rather enjoy a life of taking it easy. I haven't reached that life yet though.
