Hi, i recently bought one of those Wii2hdmi and it works nice enough but i was wondering if i could perhaps mod the Wii's board as little as possible and make it an internal hdmi module for the sake of convenience. I heard the wii has very little space left for anything inside it but i couldn't find much info about it nor does it seem that anyone have tried this before.

I have moderate experience with soldering.

The board is about 6cm long and 3,5cm wide with the wii connector removed. I can't post pictures because i'm a new member on the forum.

It's not like you just have to solder it and that's it.
You actually have to modify the internal Wii code and the board to accept the higher resolution.
So no... you better use that thing outside of your console...
Also, you could try taking stuff out of your Wii to make enough room for your Wii2HDMI... like, have you noticed that huge silver plate inside the Wii?
Wonder why that is? Nintendo is trying to prevent us from soldering stuff onto our Wiis?
Are we fooled by Nintendo? Is the plate covering a Nintendo Secret?
Probably!
Try taking that out because it occupies about 60% of the console's space! I mean... you could fit about 39 Wii2HDMI adapters there!

ON THE OTHER HAND YOU CAN PROVE ME WRONG AND ACTUALLY SOLDER THE STUFF TOGETHER AND:

Strange, isn´t it ? I think this Modification is not existing.
But maybe you can try it and give us Feedback of your Success please.
Good Luck.:)

Thank you.:)

Now that I remember, I've seen people doing like Portable Wii's with real Wii boards, and I've seen them cutting a large ammount of the pcb in order to make it portable. So what you're saying is probably not so crazy.
Here's what I mean:

LOL WITH THE LAST VIDEO...

Here's a pic of the board for reference, it's about 6cm long and 3,5cm wide with the wii connector removed. (Picture taken from google)

I'm no expert so this is a guess, it may JUST be possible but at the same time probably not worth it.

Looking at a see through Wii, it may be possible to fit it above the USB ports or the power connector if you remove the Wii2HDMI's video connector and then solder the connection to the Wii directly.

However, soldering risk aside, this could introduce interference and affect things like air flow, heat, etc.

My reference:

Note: I checked and the Wiidual is no longer made.

I would sooner recommend going for something like the Hyperkin HDMI adapter if the bulk at the rear is the main concern:

People have done this with Xbox with Wii2HDMI, so I don't see why not, other than space as already mentioned. Here is a pinout schematic of the Wii2HDMI board, now you'll need to figure out the Wii a/v port pinout situation, but I'm sure that's well documented. Credit to the crazies over at ogxbox, of which I am a member. Have a good look at all of this to get an idea of what you're in for. https://www.ogxbox.com/forums/index...i-diagram-wiring-schematic-component-to-hdmi/

No...that's pretty much EXACTLY what you do, lol. That's just redirecting the video out signal, not complicated. Far, far less complicated than making a portable Wii.

Uh-huh! That's why I said that his idea didn't sounded that crazy... because I was looking (not so long ago) to a pin shcematic to solder together VGA and HDMI together.
I now wonder if it's possible to take female RCA cabled and pin them togethet to VGA.
That'd be nice too!

Yeah, my main concern is space inside the case, and i'm not sure if heat would be a problem. Also thanks for recommending that cable, i din't know it existed! Though i'd still be willing to add the wii2hdmi as an internal module, idk the idea just seem very interesting to me for whatever reason. :)

I saw the xbox mod too, but they have plenty of space available inside the Xbox case so it's not a problem for them. In it's essence the wii2hdmi is just a component to hdmi converter/adapter, so in theory it should work with anything that has component output.
