Hello all. Have had the sxos since release. Since the 2.94 beta has been installed I have just keep getting errors installing nsps. Could not start software and if I was to restart it I just get boot.dat. all these issues are new.. have reformatted sd card, factory settings restored. Still the same. Have ordered a new sd card, not sure if that's the issue but will see. Has anyone else started to occur errors??

I had the exact same problem! You probably need to replace the SD card reader in your Switch. Luckily, it's cheap and easy to replace!

However you MUST be careful with the connector. I was too rough with mine because I didn't understand how fragile it is.

I had to buy two new SD card modules because I broke the connector of the first one. I also damaged the port on the motherboard!

Because of all the damage, I had to put a little extra cushion on top of the connector, and now it works properly!

But don't worry! It really is an easy fix. Just be very gentle when removing and inserting your SD card from now on. Even ONE rough push can disconnect the reader!

EDIT: Oh and don't worry too much about SX OS. I thought your post was going to be about a lack of features, and I would say that since their new modchip is coming out, they will continue to support their software for quite a while longer!

Thank you will give it a try. It does all seem sd related so hopefully it's just the reader. 4.95 on ebay . Bargain

Those SD modules are very fragile. If you take your SD card out constantly they can break easily. I recommend using a wifi or usb method to install and/or play stuff. I have three switches and learned the hard way with one of them.

How did you get on replacing the reader
It worked. I ordered on from amazon. It was a $8, but I didn’t have to wait a month for it to arrive. I followed this guide. Also, the new reader is very clicky. The original one felt like I was pushing the card into an apple.

personally i feel the modding of hacking a switch is stupid granted the only thign i'd want is for them for a better file managment system. as it's currently too basic the 3ds had better file management so what's problem?

absolutely nothing. @Legendaykai is clueless
I'm clueless? HA, sorry nerd but I prefer to stay within the law and not be a complete cheapass pirating games that honestly are not that expensive. Maybe if you didnt spend money on a device that allows piracy you could get the games in the first place you idiot!

I haven't heard much SX OS news lately, I thought they abandoned support, lol. I wonder if my lack of being able to boot Atmosphere is my card reader's fault... I can boot SX OS only, and Hekate, but that's all I get. Otherwise I just boot to a black screen. (I've ruled out bad SD cards, as I've tested 5 different brands and sizes, none of which are fakes)

@Xdqwerty, People who create revival services for the Wii end up in disaster, same goes for Pretendo lol.

@SylverReZ, atleast wiimmfii went fine although people only use it for Mario kart Wii
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
At least if they ban you for cheating, get another Wii. They're cheap as chips.

Remember when RiiShop was a thing?
  • BakerMan @ BakerMan:
    not really
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
It got shutdown because somebody "accidentally" leaked the database for the amount of people using the beta.
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
RiiShop is the laziest way of downloading Wii games. Did somebody not think of this through?
  • BakerMan @ BakerMan:
although i ended up accidentally changing my nand with no way of going back bc i didn't know you needed a gamecube controller to restore it (i have a wii minus/1.1, which doesn't have gamecube controller support)
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@BakerMan, I think you're talking about the recovery mode that the SaveMii used, and also was to restore softbricked systems.
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
If your NAND was hardbricked, then just buy another Wii. Or go with the dirty NAND flasher method.
  • BakerMan @ BakerMan:
and if i find the sd card i have my NAND backed up on, i can not only restore the NAND if i solder the right part in, but i can also put my NAND on dolphin, then i can play dolphin online, like PMEX Remix or MKWii Riibalanced
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
    Brb
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@BakerMan, Oh yeah, that was a thing too. Dolphin does support Wiimmfi.
  • BakerMan @ BakerMan:
yeah you just need to put your NAND backup with wiimmfi on it
  • BakerMan @ BakerMan:
ngl i feel like if a bunch of my friends have wiis and know how to get wiimmfi and back up their NAND, then we could do a PMEX Remix tournament
  • BakerMan @ BakerMan:
maybe even add UMVC3/DBFZ and make it a biathlon/triathlon
