Hi All,
I recently configured Nintendont to run through USB Loader GX to start GameCube games. However, when I start a GameCube game, it prompts me with the question of whether I want to allow progressive scan display. When I try to select an option though, none of my controllers seem to be working (I have tried Wiimote and Gamepad). I did see the huge thread with the section of supported controllers and the Wiimote is listed as one of them so I am not sure what's up.

Nintendont can be really weird

Is it the original wiimote or wiimotion+?

Do you have a regular old Nintendo Wii mote you can try? (Brand is often important)

be sure you didn't enable "Native controller" option in the loader's settings.
With that option, only the real Gamecube Ports are working, with original Gamecube controller.

to allow other devices, you need to disable that option (it's disabled by default), but some GC game cheatcode related to controller (like pressing a button to do an action) might not work because the controller memory addresses will be different, you'll need new updated for nintendont controller adresses cheatcodes. but you'll have all other devices working (wiimote, USB-HID, etc.)

Native controller option is disabled and yes, I have an official Wiimote produced by Nintendo. Any other thoughts as to why my Wiimote is not pairing when I arrive to this screen?

Hello.:)

Did you use a Component Cable and/or HDMI Cable ?
Are your Games NTSC or did you also play PAL Games too ?
Please try this:
Go into the Nintendont Settings and check the "Force Progressive" Option please.Turn in ON if it is OFF please.

Good luck
Thank you.:)

Thanks so much! This worked. Do you also know how to make the GameCube games fill my TV screen? I tried forcing widescreen in settings but nothing happened. What would you also say is the best controller for GameCube games through this emulation? Can you change control settings? How well does the Wiimote and nunchuck work? Sorry, lots of questions.

Great to hear it works now for you.:)

For filling the Screen: Did you have this also on the Homebrew Channel ? Then you maybe need the 16:9 Aspect Fix:
https://wiidatabase.de/wii-u-vwii-downloads/vwii-tools/vwii-homebrew-channel-169-fixer/

For the Controller: An original GameCube Controller and a 4 Port Adapter like
this

is a very good Solution for the GameCube Games.

For the Control Settings unfortunately I am not really familiar with.:shy:
Plug in the Adapter, boot up the vWii and thats it for me.
Wii Motion Controller and Nunchuk works like on the Wii.Great.:yaywii:

Thank you.:)

What Alexander explained, or asked whether you had the apect ratio fixer, you don't really need it as Nintendont has an option for that ! it's called "WiiU widescreen".

The widescreen you probably tried is not for the TV display, but for the game's buffer.
it forces game to display more content in the same pixel width. imagine you use a wide camera in a 3D game, instead of a 4:3 camera, but the game always display the same amount of width/height pixels. you see more, but with loss of quality/resolution.
sometime it create issues with non 3D games, for example Paper Mario where you see that the side of the game area is used to pre-generate the sprites you normally see. you see enemies and background appearing on the side.
(hard to explain, it's easier to just see)
Edit: I couldn't find a screenshot of what I meant on the net. nobody made one?

if you want to fill the TV if you have little black bars on the side, try editing the "Video width" (from 640 to 720) (or from 40 to 120)

Also, remember that most gamegube games are old and only meant for 4:3
very few games have a real widescreen mode (starfox, metroid prime? probably other but I know only these two)
having the blackbar on the WiiU is more correct to get proper aspect ratio in games. if you don't use wiiu, you have to set your tv settings to 4:3 to force the black bars.
but lot of users prefer filling the TV screen and enabling the widescreen (ingame buffer) hack to fix the wrong aspect ratio, losing some detail/resolution.
TV or WiiU 4:3 : proper, native format.
TV or WiiU widescreen + nintendont widescreen patch : tries to fix the wrong aspect ratio by squeezing the picture.
TV or wiiU widescreen : if it's a real widescreen game, no need to enable that option in nintendont to fix the aspect ratio, the game developers enabled that "fake widescreen patch" internally. it's just a aspect ratio fixer to make circle not look like oval.
