Hey guys, i don't know what to do right now, just bought a old3ds of a friend that used to work with Luma and A9LH. The problem is that the SD card was corrupted. Tried following this guide and it just doesn't boot the hourglass.

threads/tutorial-a9lh-users-recover-from-formatted-deleted-sd-card.444161/

I think it might be because the system update is 11.4.0.73. The 3ds doesn't start without the sd card and only turns on with the firm of luma 7.1. Is there anything i can do to save it?

PS: Tried updating with the hacking 3ds guide a9lh to b9s but the 3ds doesn't even turn on
How do you even know its luma 7.1 if you state it doesnt even turn on?

I had to download because i put up another sd. I downloaded the luma 7.1 and extracted the boot firm to the sd card. (If i delete the config.bin from the lumar folder i can access the Luma config once, but after turning the 3ds off i can't start the menu again by pressing start.)

It is Select and power I believe if you want to reaccess the luma config screen. Start and power will activate godmode9 if its on the sd card.

If it boots with 7.1 luma. That should mean you have b9s v1.0 or 1.1 on the console. You would want to look at https://3ds.hacks.guide/updating-b9s for getting the latest b9s version and luma on your console.

Thanks! It worked! I'll follow the next steps and try to install the FBI and luma updater right now.

Another alternative is to use openfirmwareinstaller (which can even be run from a9lh as it includes a .bin payload as well as a .firm) and install fastboot3ds with it. Though fastboot3ds is slightly more complicated to set up than b9s since you have to tell it where the Luma .firm file is.

I'm having a pretty strange issue. I don't usually need to ask for help but this one is unusual. I have a N3DS with B9S + Luma installed (latest version of both) onto a 16GB SD Card, and I wanted to transfer to a 64GB SD card. So I followed what 3ds.guide said and copied the files over to the new one. Upon booting 3DS, it says "Failed to apply FIRM1 patches" and forces me to shut down. Other SD card still works obviously.

Yes, my 64GB card is FAT32. Just for the heck of it I tried EXFAT as well and it didn't work of course. I tried various allocation sizes. I took the MD5 of all the files on my new and old SD card and they're identical. It's always the same error message.

That comes from not using the latest boot.firm. Sounds like your new card is not working and it is reading boot.firm from CTR NAND which is an old one. Use your old card and follow the steps in https://3ds.guide/finalizing-setup that put Luma in CTR NAND. Then at least you'll be able to boot, even if your SD card doesn't work.

So this SD card won't work at all with the 3DS? I just did everything and the 3DS says could not detect a micro SD card.

Are you making sure its formatted to Fat32? Also make sure to test it with https://3ds.hacks.guide/h2testw-(windows).html to make sure its working and not faulty in any way.
Yes, I've been using this card in my phone for years but I don't need it anymore for my phone so I'm trying to use it with my 3DS. I'm 100% sure it is FAT32 and it is not faulty. It's GPT, not MBR if that matters.

EDIT: I don't know if this matters or not, but I used guiformat to format it to FAT32 since Windows only allows NTFS and exFAT. Does that make a difference?

Guiformat is fine. (Modern) Windows does not format >32GB partitions to FAT32 by default.

GPT is not supported on the 3DS.

Does anyone know how to use God Mode 9 for a CFW 3DS system to convert a .cia file to .3ds? Or to download an already installed game to your SD Card as a .3ds file?

Why do you need a .3ds file? .3ds files are for flashcards which no one should use anymore.
There are some 3ds games that can’t be played when in cia format they have to be used with a flashcart. I have some games I converted to via files and they ended up not working on cfw, and the original roms were deleted
