Wow thanks, that is different. Am I missing something off of the sd card perhaps because I definitely loaded the hekate_ctcaer_5.0.2.bin with TegraRCM and that's not the menu I get, the one I get is the screenshot I sent you
Yeah, that looks like the old heakate, before the 5.0 version, you must update or rebuild your SD files

Thanks again, man i'm confused now :-(

These were the steps I followed using this guide - https://switch.homebrew.guide/usingcfw/manualchoiupgrade

  1. Navigate to the “/bootloader” folder on your SD card
  2. Rename “hekate_ipl.ini” to “hekate_bak.ini”
  3. Navigate to “/NX-X.X.X/microSD” folder which was generated with ChoiDujour.
  4. Copy the “FSXXX-exfat_nocmac_nogc.kip1” file to the root of your SD card
  5. Copy the “hekate_ipl.ini” file to the “/bootloader” folder on your SD card
  6. Safely eject your SD card and insert it into your Switch
  7. Enter RCM and send the “hekate-ctcaer-5.0.1.bin” payload
  8. In Hekate, navigate to Tools > Archive bit - AutoRCM > Unset archive bit

So not sure where to restart and continue to get to that screen, if you know that will be very helpful

Did you already update your hekate? If so, the kip1 file must be in the root of your sd, and the hekate_ipl.ini must be on the bootloader folder, You can find those files in the folder that coidujour creates under a folder called microSD, once that's ready put the sd on the switch and boot up with hekate, go to Tools then on the bottom right corner you'll find the Archive bit - AutoRCM option, then the Unset archive bit click that and go to home, launch and then click the second option. In the best case your switch will boot up. Hope you luck, this guide didn't work for me

Have you checked it’s prodinfo? Having a fucked prodinfo is a thing that can cause it to get stuck at the Switch logo.

I already tried hekate version 5.0.1 as the guide suggested then I tried 5.0.2. I also already had the kip1 file on there as well as the kekate.ipl.ini. I followed the guide very slowly . As you can see from the screenshot, this is how my hekate v5.0.2 boots

The switch also seems to be stuck on a black screen which I assume is always in RCM mode, because the switch does not power on anymore to give me any logo's...so possibly even in a more worse state.

I just had a thought, does the sd card have to be formatted to exFAT for Hekate to work properly, currently formatted as FAT32

Hi Dripz, Just wanted to let you know...so I finally booted into Hekate properly like your screenshot!!

What i had to do was, copy all the contents from the "sys" folder that was in the 7-zip file for Hekate v5.0.2 over to my sd card which also included the nyx.bin file so thank you to KuranKu as well for pointing that out....

Well, here goes, I will update to let you all know if it works or not

Thanks again

Well folks, that didn't work as the switch is still stuck at the boot logo!

So if anyone can suggest what to try or do next that will be great, surely someone was able to fix this problem. I am willing to follow any steps/guide in order to fix this no matter how complex :-)

Hi,

Do you have a guide or instructions how to do this please?
Run memloader, select emmc, open hacdiskmount on your pc, open a physical drive (the Switch will be Linux UMS disk or something like that) in hacdiskmount, select prodinfo, put in the required biskey, press test then save, if it gave you no error dump it to a file.

Thank you very much for the quick response, I was able to do it through my nand backup, would that work the same ok?

I have attached a screenshot of the output using a hex editor HxD, does it look ok?

Thanks...

Hi Tigermean74, I am in the SAME situation as you. Followed carefully every single step but my Switch is still stuck at the boot logo.

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

Just be sure, do you guys think this is not a HW issue but a SW one?

@SylverReZ, I also heard one of the Prince of Persia games was so unfinished that it required the "24/7 online" drm so a puzzle could be done and the game could be finished. And that when the Ubisoft servers were closed the (cracked) game was impossible to finish or something like that
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Xdqwerty, That's extra scummy. Ubisoft nowadays ship out incomplete games like Skull and Bones which was being worked on for nearly a decade now.

I like that games can be fixed after the fact, hate that it's being abused via beta tests... And DLC... I was a 7800 owner back in the day and loved Impossible Mission, turns out I couldn't beat it because it was actually impossible lol

I never knew about it at the time but a fixed version was available but you had to mail in your broken copy lol

So that version is semi rare
