Much obliged, I can now run 3DSForwarder.

However, on installing the .cia and trying to play the game, I get "Error 1 SD card template not found". Everything on 3DSForwarder is updated, the filenames are short and I dragged the original nds file from the sd card to 3DSForwarder so I'm not sure where I'm going wrong.

EDIT: False alarm, I've figured out what I was doing. Sorry and thanks a lot for your help!

Did you happen to be on the new 3DS firmware update when this happened? (11.10)

I had read on how to fix this somewhere here before, i'm not sure where...

but it was a complicated process to fix this..

I'm having problem adding ROM hacks to the forwarder, in addition to the original. I've edited the banner of Renegade Platinum using MessAnimDSIco and it shows up in Twilight and the Forwarder but on my 3DS home screen whenever I try to install it, instead of creating new software it just replaces Pokemon Platinum and doesn't update the icon or title and keeps it as the Pokemon Platinum title and the original Platinum banner, but it launches Renegade. Can anyone help me?

I forgot to mention I'm using an SD Card not a flashcart.

Can I ask what you did to fix it? because this is the exact situation I'm in. I followed all of the instructions, and am now stuck at all of my games bringing up that error "Error 1 SD card template not found". How do i fix it?

I was having this problem randomly. I fixed it by downloading the folder from the "3DS SD Card" link on page 1 of the original post of this thread. Extract it and you'll find a folder called "ntr-forwarder". Put that folder into your _nds folder on your SD card and it should be good to go.

Is it possible to forward DS roms from a flashcart in a different format from DSI? I've gone past the limit of dsi titles you can have on the home screen and am trying to figure out if there is another way to forward the rest so they show up.

After extensive googling there appears to be no way to avoid the 40 DS home screen limit short of remaking the entire home screen (which hasn't been done). I do know that the extra forwarders that do not show up on the homescreen do however show up in FBI and can be launched from there.

Is there perhaps a way to create basically a forwarder that opens FBI with a command to launch a desired title? It would count towards the 300 total icon limit rather than the smaller 40 limit since it wouldn't be DSi formatted. It seems like a fesable solution to me if such a thing is possible. Not asking anyone to do this for me, I'm just interested if something like this could even be possible

You guys are making things way more difficult than they need to be....

there is no need to have over 40 DSiWare titles on your 3ds,

have what you want installed on your 3ds, and store the rest on your PC/ phone.

There is no way to get around the DSiWare 'title' limit,
you only have a specific amount of TWL NAND memory available, and there is ABSOLUTELY no way to bypass that, unlike the 3DS title limit (launching them through FBI)
actually, there is no "title limit" for DSiWare (correct me if im wrong)
but that you only have so much memory in TWL NAND.

just buy a DSi.

Sorry if i'm being a bit abrasive, ive been drinking a bit :grog:

I mean, i have the whole of Alvros collection on multiple HDDs, (about 134TB)
but in no way is every title installed on their systems.
lol.

Yes. It's the same process for regular DS games.
They just don't work in DSi mode yet.

There's a limit of 40 on the homescreen. Plenty of room in the twlnand (tgis is why they still show up in FBI) Yes I have over 40 games I want installed, there was a lot of good titles for the DS. Most are my own dumps too so I'm not just trying to shove a romset onto my 3ds. I was just interested if there was a possibility in my idea, if not it's no big deal.

The HOME Menu would need reverse-engineering to achieve that.
Alternatively, you can use TWiLight Menu++.

When I use the same process for dsi enhanced games (pokemon black, white, black 2, and white 2) they load as blank icons and give me an error when loaded. Do you know why or how to fix that? The roms are all AP patched.

Is there any method for modifying the forwarded DS icon other than through MessAnimDSIco? It doesn't allow image importing so the only way to create a custom icon is to go pixel by pixel, which is enormously time consuming.

I tried searching wherever I could, but I can't figure it out. I did everything the same way I did before, but now the game doesn't work. white upper screen, black lower one with: start failed. error 1 sd card template not found.
Help?
