It does look nice. I wouldn't mind a game in the same style, it's not far off from what you can do with modern hardware.

They can. Just look at FighterZ or the 3D animations of the Broly Movie, they looked fine. Or any of the cutscenes from and video game , be it dragon Ball or Dragon Quest. They still look really good.

That's still anime style. I suppose it could work well for a movie but again, CGI like this has a more mainstream appeal.

Honestly this is just the Sonic movie all over again, some art director thinks he knows what will appeal to "the kids" and butchered the source material

I'm ok with it not following Toriyama's style, at least it's still CGI animated so it's not like the "realistic" Sonic movie with the ... weird design

I don't think they butchered it, it looks good. Can't say the same for the Sonic movie.

I'm honestly not surprised at this point.

Interesting fact: Dragon Quest, by Japanese law, is not allowed to be released on a weekday because too many people take time off of school or work to start leveling up!

It really makes me think how a less professional production has better looking 3d models than a hundreds of dollars movie.
just search "bride of rakuin" (nsfw) and compare that bianca to the movie trailer.

Well it looks better then Mewtwo Striker Back EVOLUTION that for sure. It dosen't look like a christmas special of Rudolph, so just visual only this movie look amazing. I never play to many game of this series, i still need to play the one relased on the 3DS, but this trailer looks really good and im very intrested in too see this movie.

How in the world no one remembers the DQ 11 cutscenes? Toriyama style is perfectly suitable for cgi, even for film productions like this one.

Yep, agreed. I think this looks incredible and personally would have much preferred this style. Doesn't mean the new movie won't be good, of course.
