How do you differentiate that? Because it was marketed that way? From a purely technical standpoint, it's a tablet with a bluetooth controller that you can output to the tv.

From a hardware standpoint, it's a home console (Shield TV) that they slapped a screen on and added rails to. It's easier just to call it a hybrid console and leave it at that, though.

Before that it was a temporary site that was being taken down all the time and domains switched because it was hosting warez. I would say it wasn't much of a site before 10/23/2002.

Could you imagine being in gamestop and being like "well, idk. For the same price I heard you can get a much better online experience and most of these games would look and play alot better with much more content." Then the gamestop dude is like "yeah, but $300 is the best price for that form factor".

The only time "form factor" matters is while playing off the dock. Which is about 3 hours before it has to be charged again. So for 3 out of about every 10 hours, your absolutely right.

The PS4 and XB1 retailed for 500, only 300 now

Wow, so what though? What's the point of arguing for the price then you're if comparing apple and oranges? I might misunderstand your point, and my statement only applied to what's the best price for that form factor, which is $300. Less than that you will either get a much bigger and heavier console, equipped with suck ass battery, or a 3ds screen strapped on it. That's what you get for today's technology, for that price. I don't care if you want a traditional console or a hybrid - your weird example seemed to imply that, but comparing console prices without considering their form factor is ridiculous I'd say. That is an argument projected purely based on your feelings, but you do you though if you so prefer traditional console.

My whole thing was based on the fact that they marketed it as a new gen console. So we're really not arguing the same thing.

For every 10 hours you play the thing, only 3 can be played in handheld because you have to charge the rest of the time. So even for a compact mobile device.. it's kind of shit, considering most mobile tablets and gaming devices have a 10+ hour battery life. It defeats the purpose.

My point being, form factor doesn't matter most of time cause you have to play it as a console. Who cares about the form factor of their console when its sitting on a shelf hooked to a tv?

Honestly it falls short of a mobile device and a console.
