If I knew for sure I was getting a shot at it I would definitely pick up a switch at least.

edit: I think I'm gonna pick up a ps4 anyway, 200 bucks was my sweet spot for one.

Having neither this gen of gaming console/PC (or money for that matter), nor the appropriate english for writing an interesting review, I'll pass :P.
Good luck to those who can though .

@T-hug @Chary I still have yet to reach the minimum required level to send messages to the other members as such I would love to present this here. It has been a while since I had reviewed any content as I had took my leave off the scene in order to pursue other trivialities and some of which I had been condemned to regret. I had mainly focused on the PlayStation Vita in the past as well as the PlayStation 4, and would love to get back in the game again. As proof and testament to my experience, I would love to share these reviews;

- Muramasa Rebirth / bit(dot)ly/2IdEI15
- Steins;Gate / bit(dot)ly/2S2gMh7
- Odin Sphere: Leifthrasir / bit(dot)ly/2TTonjQ
- Ys Origin / bit(dot)ly/2GMNMIi
- Norn9: Var Commons / bit(dot)ly/2X5cKrT

These reviews/articles are merely a glint from the past and one might say that such a list had not aged well, as I had departed the group a long-long time ago. As anybody would notice, I mainly focus on JRPGs with a glint of genre shift to visual novels and rhythm games, would also be delighted to point out and that I handle access for review codes on R1/NA. As a bonus, I have an up-to-date PlayStation Vita, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and also a gaming PC.

does age matter?
I'm only thirteen years old.
It does in the sense that you will only be able to review content within your age rating as specified by ESRB and PEGI. Think of it as GBATemp not allowed to give you content outside of your age restriction - only legal guardians are allowed to do that.

I would, but I don't have a PC/XBOX/PS4, only a Switch on the latest FW, and my english could use a bit of work in some areas. If people think that I should apply, i will. Otherwise I am not going to.

Is this a shock to some that for a gaming forum, not many people here have the latest game consoles? Or is it just me and my imagination?

Lots of people saying they don't have this or that, or only have this one thing. I understand having this kind of stuff is expensive, but I didn't think it was a challenge for one self proclaimed as gamer. :ninja:

It's cheaper to mod your 3DS and play games on emulators you know?

I know GBATemp doesn't really have staff putting out much video content aside from Twitch streaming, but is there any interest in posting video reviews?

And yet, there is still people sitting in their house with a nes collection of games for their actual nes and a crt tv to play it on today. Saying that original hardware is the best way to play any game. I don't think those people care much about a emulator and how cheaper it is.

Though I wasn't talking about such unofficial methods, I mean having the means to play the latest released games, like stuff that will be released later in the year. Also it was directed at the thought of people joining the forums cause you have bunch of games and wanted to be part of a community who also has a bunch of games. :ninja:

I think I'll join in. I'm gonna start writing a review of Wargroove once exams are done next week and once I finish the game. Also, have both a semi-capable PC in the form of my laptop and an up-to-date PS4 but I really do have crappy internet as of the moment.

I'm interested in reviewing Switch games, but I'm worried about how much time it might take up.
For the average bear kind of a game it's around 40 hours, most of which is gameplay. Naturally you've got the odd 200 hour RPG that you'll have to speedrun, but you usually have around a week to wrap everything up.

Oh I don’t know, I’ve still got every console and computer I had growing up, from the 1970’s right up to today’s current 3 consoles. I think it’s somewhere around 70 systems, I haven’t counted in a while. Yes, I play the oldies on a nice CRT TV. Yes, I personally still think it’s the best way to enjoy them as intended.

But I still like emulators. There’s no other way I can take most of my gaming collection with me whenever the wife drags me off on holiday :D

I thought that GBAtemp already had quite a few contributors
The team's smaller than you might think, and then when you think about reviews you have to consider who of the team has the right consoles and matching interests. It'll be good to have some new people in to expand on those.
