Hello Bladeoner, thank you for your excellent work, I compiled the last build (with your latest improvements) everything works well except Kirby's Dream Land 3 (from stage 2).

So I reactivated the SA1 hack and it works well, so I think it's better that you reactivate it ;)

Whats up, Bladeoner. Firt of all, thanks for these awesome improvements on the emulator, updating the core to 1.57 is great, i think now it has less input lag than with core 1.52, right? Im having some problems with saves on your latest version, the 4.4.0 interpolation one, sram saves and savestates are always saving on the same date "jan 01, thu 12:00 AM" and sometimes sram saves are loading old saves from way before. I also noticed that this version is freezing the console while on the menus choosing roms more often than 4.3.9. Again, thanks for your work.
Confirmed.

I don't have the time to test games like I used to, but I decided to test a few demanding games that have a history of issues on lesser powered devices:

- Tales of Phantasia: Wasn't able to test it as it freezes during the movie that cycles at the start and during the new game intro (v1.2 English translation). Doesn't appear to freeze in v4.3.9.
- Battle transition animation in FFVI has only 3 frames of slowdown, which is good, since transition animation is an issue with RPGs running on weaker CPUs and FFVI is one of the more demanding RPGs.
- When starting a new game in Front Mission: Gun Hazard, there's a scene that uses transparant flames that is very demanding. Runs without a hitch.
- Axelay runs full speed during first level.
- Plok runs full speed during first level.
- Clayfighter Tournament Edition: It has issues running on older SNES9X builds that tend to be used for speed purposes, but runs fine here with one exception: Sound is too quiet, but sounds fine after turning up speakers.
- Adventures of Batman & Robin: Have experienced slowdowns on other devices in the Funhouse level. No such slowdown here.

Speed-wise, v4.4.0 seems solid with exception to some chip games. The compatibility bug in ToP is a little concerning though, as that may not be an isolated issue.

I removed the two Interpolation Files and uploaded two new files which:
- Includes the latest changes (pending Pull Requests) I also send to the Snes9x GX Master.
- Bumped the core version to 1.58
- Compiled with older tools which should fix the date/time issue with game saves
- Reactivated the SA1 Hack for Kirby's Dreamland 3
- Removed the Interpolation code since it was incomplete

Tales of Phantasia (English v1.2) is still broken in the 4.4.0 beta. Music cuts out then game freezes during both the default and in game intros. Plays fine in 4.3.9.

Just tested Tales of Phantasia with Snes9X 1.57 for Windows. Works fine. So the issue is isolated to the changes made in GX 4.4.0.

Well that should be an easy fix. Hopefully it's the only game that had it's hack disabled.

There are more hacks disabled by default I will enable all of them and try to compile it later. Which one of my builds are you using the one with or without controller fix?

Thanks in advance.

I've uploaded two new files:
Snes9x.GX.4.4.0.Tales_of_Phantasia
Snes9x.GX.4.4.0.Tales_of_Phantasia_plus_Controller_Fix

Which are the same as the two Beta's plus an attempt to see if I could get Tales of Phantasia working, I don't have time to try them out myself so they are untested, normally I test before uploading.

@LumInvader please test and let me know if this works for you.

Tales of Phantasia is indeed working again with both builds, Bladeoner. Good job as usual!

I think I'm confused, what's this new interpolation thing?

I've added Interpolation earlier as a test and posted here in a test version. It seemed to be incomplete and not working. So the idea was to leave it out. But in the last moment just before 4.4.0 was created I tested it thoroughly and it seems that the Audio filters Gaussian (the default and also used in all versions of the emulator), Linear and None (raw data) are working so I added it just in time to include it into 4.4.0. What it does, when a game is started and you go to the Game menu you have the Button Configs, Video etcetera. There is a new menu called Audio were you can change the Interpolation.
