Im on firmware 11.0.0 and i have gateway which i start through the web page. My emunand is on 9.0. What is the guide to install cfw and when i turn on my ds to run gateway automatically? And how can i run fbi within emunand?
Trust me, just ditch your Gateway and upgrade to a free CFW. Gateway stopped supporting their cart last years and the only methods for continued use is literally jumping through hoops to get to it to work. Backup your Gateway saves and upgrade to a B9S you don't even have to use Luma3DS if you don't want to. You can use Luma3DS, Rei-Six, or CakesFW, which can all work with your emuNAND or you can you can flash your emuNAND to your sysNAND and run it that way. Regardless of the path you take, the best way to CFW is not using Gateway anymore.
No (by reading the procedure it's clear emunand isn't touched unless you deliberately do so), just remember that Brickway's CFW can't run any kernel above the 11.2 one (meaning you would need to leave emunand on 11.2, or install frankenfirmware of questionable benefit)
With Luma3DS you just need to enable the option in the Luma3DS setting that boot up upon first boot.
Typically what you would want to do is set up Luma to run most games and use GW just to have an extra SD. I wouldn't put too much faith in the responses around here. The Gatehate is sad and annoying as hell. In a nutshell here is what I recommend to get GW going. Real quick and dirty tutorial. I'll answer any questions.
- Follow the guide - go to 3ds.guide . Follow instructions and install Luma. The guide will have you copy your EmuNAND to your SysNAND. MAKE A BACKUP OF YOUR EmuNAND using GodMode9 the first time you run GodMode9(not reflected in the guide)! Do this before you System Update during the course of the guide.
- Make EmuNAND - Once the guide is complete you'll need EmuNAND back! Use GodMode9 to make a new EmuNAND(under format options) then use GodMode9 to "Restore EmuNAND Backup" using the backup you made in step one.
- Install New GW boot Method - use this! https://gbatemp.net/threads/release-the-bootctr9-release-thread.435347/page-6#post-7608943 and for the actual payload use this! https://www.maxconsole.com/threads/gw-payload-converted-for-b9s.45065/ You'll set up BootCTR9 as your Loader and point the loader to the GW payload (edit the .INI)
- Update EmuNAND** Optional - At this point you should have your SysNAND at the Latest version and GW at 11.2 (whatever your EmuNAND was) You can technically leave it like this. This EmuNAND will run all games you currently run on GW. We can update you to 11.6 hybrid EmuNAND BUT that won't benefit you at this point because 11.7 is out. MaxConsoles has packs of CIA files to go to a hybrid 11.6/11.4. I am sure a 11.7/hybrid will show up soon
That should get you to Luma booting in SysNAND with latest firm, GW booting in to 11.4 (or your hybrid) if you hold the trigger defined in the INI you edited in step 3. Use Luma for most things. Use GW for extra storage.
There is an AIO pack by Inscripted that should get you going fast. Srtup is drag n drop/ On your own to find it.(search AIO pack on MaxConsoles)
BTW Copying your saves from GW mode to Luma is TEDIOUS. IF you set up the GW then you can skip it all together! Your EmuNAND will be compatible. And your SAV files (card 1 and 2) will load as usual in GW mode...
Gateway is old and flawed but it works. DO NOT UPDATE IN GW MODE! EVER! It's a good idea to own a B9S flashcard just in case.

OK. your EmuNAND will be as it is right now. If yocu don't have FBI you have a few options. During the guide you will use Luma to redirect one of the useless channels (safety warning channel?) to FBI. After you are done with the guide you can do the same thing in your EmuNAND.
To boot in to EmuNAND you'll have to
- Hold SELECT at boot for Luma options.
- Check "Autoboot EmuNAND"
- Check "Show NAND or user string in System Settings" <-- (with this on it will show EMU on the System Settings to you can tell if you are in EmuNAND or not.)

This is the gist of it except you are using a CIA pack instead of downloading the CIA files through NUSD. Also Guide is on 11.4. Just remember use Luma to boot in to EmuNAND. Make sure you are in EmuNAND. And get the right version for your system.
To be honest. I would skip this. There is only a few games that don't work in 11.2 anyway. Just run those in Luma. Luma is your new go to. Only go online in Luma. It's safer anyway. GW is a bit dangerous... Luma is SAFER, FASTER, CLEANER, SMARTER and BETTER! Just put the overflow games on your GW that don't need online and aren't one of the six that are incompatible. I can't confirm that even if you downloaded the 11.7 files and swapped out the GW killing files for GW safe ones (the link) I am not sure they would work... Wait for an 11.7 pack or just forget about it and utilize the non broken OS for that stuff (Luma)

That will literally never happen. The Gateway team ditched their cart in favor of working on Stargate, which they also ditched after the first/only release of their firmware for it. (I don't count the community pack as it's not actually their work.)

wont happen, gateway have abandoned their card almost 2 years ago
