Hey guys

So I followed the guide
Trying to put custom fw on my n3ds v11.5
Bought a flashcart which is compatible
R4i sdhc 3ds rts

Getting a error flashcart setup failure using ak2i_ntrcardhax_flasher

Any thoughts?

Support for those cards is buggy at the moment. There are many reports of the SDHC cards not working properly with the flasher. All you can do is wait for updates to the program or buy another flashcard to use. There is no ETA on fixed support.

Hi all
Sorry but have been out of commission for quite some time.

I'm trying to update to B9S my N3DS XL and only have one doubt: since I have the A9LH on CTRNand, does the script "setup_ctrnand_luma3ds.gm9" cleans/replace it?
Asking this because, as I read it, the script:
Code:
# remove existing files just in case
rm -o -s 1:/boot.firm
rm -o -s 1:/rw/luma

deletes "boot.firm" and the "luma" folder and I don't remember where the "arm9loaderhax.bin" was copied to.

Thank you all in advance...

No it just copies it. You need to delete arm9loaderhax.bin from CTRNAND manually in Godmode9.

It should be mentioned in the guide, or maybe I'm not Reading it right, O.o
Well I mean if the removal part of the script doesn't look for arm9loaderhax.bin to delete like it does "boot.firm" and "luma", then it's obvious. I think it's not included for two reasons; as stated, it won't cause an issue as B9S won't recognize it anyway and putting A9LH in CTRNAND was never automated like it is now. Back then it was optional and most people didn't do it as it wasn't suggested in the guide, so most didn't have it unless they were using something like Kecleon.

Actually it was in the guide at least from when I first did it. (Can't remember the date, but it was when 11.2 was the newest version)

This post has over 2000 posts, which is kind of daunting.
Someone recently gave me a Acekard 2i, and I was curious if I was able to use it with my New Nintendo 3ds. And if so how I go about all of that, what I need to download etc and from where since acekard's site seems to be non-functional.

Thanks!

You'll need to have CFW to use it (it'll only work on stock firmware 4.3 and below), in which case it should just work. If you have CFW and it doesn't work, let us know.

Try here for the flashcart firmware http://www.r4wood.com/pages/Acekard-2i-Kernel.html

Did you follow ? If you hold Select on boot does anything happen (start holding before you press power)?

Didn't see that. And no, nothing happens other than device powering on.

Hopefully removing the link bypasses the spam filter for me? Wasn't letting me reply.

Edit;

My current version on my New Nintendo 3DS is 11.5.0-38U. According to the link my Acekard 2i wouldn't work with it? Or am I misunderstanding.

Ok, the Acekard won't work for you right now. If you have a DS console you can use that to flash the Acekard to install CFW. There's a few different kinds of Acekard, there's a chance that yours won't work, but you can try and see. See https://3ds.guide/ntrboot

If you don't, maybe consider buying an R4i Gold (link in the guide I linked above) which will let you both install CFW (on your current firmware) and play DS games. You could then sell either flashcart (maybe preflashed if you find someone who wants this).

Shucks. Would an old DS Lite work for that, or is it too old? Didn't see that mentioned on the link.

That sounds like it would be easier. I would be able to just buy, install and play without having to go through a bunch of hoops?

Thanks!

They'll be very similar hoops, the R4i just means you can use your 3DS instead of the DS lite. And Uumas said, yes a DS lite will work :)

Oh and with the R4i, if you decide not to install CFW it will still work for DS games on the latest firmware. Just thought I'd add that.

Sounds good.

What exactly is the CFW? And so I can just upload games into the r4i and plug it into 3ds and play then? Sounds easier.
