I think its my entire set-up even, I tried other things and made sure it was secure. My retroarch looks nothing like the youtube video in the sig. Even when I click it in HBL it doesn't launch, I can only get the cores to launch.
Make sure you have the newest version from here https://buildbot.libretro.com/nightly/nintendo/wiiu/

Also. What youtube video in the sig?
Unrelated, did you manage to run Amiga AGA games? Have an uae template to share? :)
Iv'e only just started messing with the AGA games but I managed to get the Trainer screen for Aladdin to boot but it says software failure when I try to start it :(
Still testing :)

Thanks for your help, it boots up with the newest files. Not sure what was going on, I used the rpx ones this time. The youtube video was posted a few pages back, this looks much nicer than my set-up.

You need to copy these contents on your "media" folder in sd:/retroarch/media
Alternatively you can use the built in online updater

You need the assets folder for the menu (needs to be assets folder in media folder), and then need to set directory for it. So u'd set directory to sd://retroarch/media/assets etc. Then u go to the menu settings and change it.

That's quite an interesting read actually.
However, I fail to see why they are mentioning PPSSPP's dynarec here.
Are they saying they will instead work on PPSSPP's dynarec to achieve PSX emulation? (since PSP is backwards compatible with PSX natively)
Or are they going to work on PPSSPP's dynarec as a base for the PSX one?
I think PPSSPP's Dynarec can be dissected and worked into a functional PS1 Dynarec but there was no mention if that Dynarec could be reworked for PPC? :(

That's more or less implicit within the conversation.
Twinaphex basically said that they need to make the Dynarec to be done in a way that backend implementarions could be easily done, which means easy portability to other architectures (PPC):

Twinaphex said:
Conditions:

  • A dynarec system for Beetle PSX, preferably written in C or else C++98. Portability to the various targets libretro supports is important in considering the programming language being used here. No C++11 or C++14 please,
  • A working backend for x86 32bit, x64 (x86 64-bit), ARMv7 (32bit) and aarch64 (ARM 64bit).
  • Should be engineered in such a way that new backend implementations for other architectures (like ARM and PowerPC) can be easily implemented. There is a separate bounty for a PowerPC dynarec, but first this one needs to be successfully completed before the PowerPC dynarec is feasible.
  • The dynarec needs to be PIC-compliant. This is essential since libretro cores predominantly are meant to run as dynamic libraries.
  • Should be signifcantly faster than the interpreter CPU core, and should lower Mednafen/Beetle PSX’s CPU system requirements considerably

@rioray is .ipf format supported by puae Wii U? I'm getting "Not enough memory Guru Meditation error" when trying to boot any of those. Also is AGA emulation working?

Well it's officially happened. The PC PS1 Dynarec has over taken the WiiU one :) That was fast :)

Right, which makes sense since a framework needs to be implemented first and foremost, right? :P Pretty sure that's what the recent blog entry implicated. Once a framework is done, PPC stuff will be more streamlined.

Though I can't help but feel a little...never mind.

That's actually how it is :P
The Dynarec bounty (framework, not PPC) specifically mentions that those things must be accomplished in order to claim the current bounty.
If the Dynarec made does not fulfill that point, they can't claim the bounty, since it's one of the requirements for it.

That's my understanding anyways, there has to be a foundation in order for a building to be put up, right? That's how I see it. A building doesn't do a lot of good if there's no concrete foundation :P

Hey all, is there some information on how to make box art show up? I have enabled the feature in settings and downloaded some packs, but nothing shows up. Could it be the naming scheme of my roms? Does this feature work at all atm?
