Yeah just remember to use BrickBlocker on all NTSC-U or PAL games to be safe. Also just as Puar said, when the game's title doesn't show up on the disc channel it might mean that the game contains an update.

Also, don't trust the Wiki, I thought that Strikers was safe so I didn't BrickBlocker it and ended up with semi-bricked Wii.

I hope that future JAP firmware updates can fix our problem or else we're screwed.

I still have no clue whether using Brickblocker on a Game that doesn't have an Update screws up the Game because it loses data though...

I've used brickblocker + regionFrii on Mario Party, Zelda, Super Swing Golf, Wario, Harry Potter, Alien Syndrome, Paper Mario, DragonBall. All the games worked fine. I guess Brickblocker doesn't do much to the structure of the game, so using Brickblocker on every game is good to start with imo.

Got a question for you guys who have tried Strikers NTSC-U. Does it run in 480p unlike the PAL version? (Or at least I think the PAL does not run in 480p since the characters look so blurry).

Thanks!

it runs in 480p if i'm not mistaken. i think many 1st party titles right now have 480p progressive and 16x9 widescreen as standard.

hi guys, i've just heard that a new system update has come out for the wii

http://gbatemp.net/index.php?act=ST&f=108&...t=0#entry729279

can anyone test if it will brick our semi-bricked JAP wiis

p.s.: it has a warning that says it may brick modified wii's

warning.jpg

EDIT: I think this is useless for now, since we can't even access the settings menu. We have to wait for a JAP game that contains this update

Hey one, hey all!

I can confirm that the wii update has not compromised my NTSC-J console in any way, shape or form! Instead, I now have a nice little digital clock on my menu, and the new Wii shop is spiffy! I think the warning from Nintendo was just to cover their own asses in case they screwed up the update again!

Hope this helps!

Hi all, I have one NTSC-J Wii too, and I'm little worried about this problem, haven't tried any american game at now. But do you think the future USA games won't be playable with ours Jap wii??

I've got a NTSC-J unit, but now it's semi-bricked (Having the page error in the Wii Settings menu). Anyone know which NTSC-J game have an update that can fix this?

Thanks

@SylverReZ, atleast wiimmfii went fine although people only use it for Mario kart Wii

At least if they ban you for cheating, get another Wii. They're cheap as chips.

    not really

It got shutdown because somebody "accidentally" leaked the database for the amount of people using the beta.

RiiShop is the laziest way of downloading Wii games. Did somebody not think of this through?

although i ended up accidentally changing my nand with no way of going back bc i didn't know you needed a gamecube controller to restore it (i have a wii minus/1.1, which doesn't have gamecube controller support)
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@BakerMan, I think you're talking about the recovery mode that the SaveMii used, and also was to restore softbricked systems.
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
If your NAND was hardbricked, then just buy another Wii. Or go with the dirty NAND flasher method.
  • BakerMan @ BakerMan:
and if i find the sd card i have my NAND backed up on, i can not only restore the NAND if i solder the right part in, but i can also put my NAND on dolphin, then i can play dolphin online, like PMEX Remix or MKWii Riibalanced
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
    Brb
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@BakerMan, Oh yeah, that was a thing too. Dolphin does support Wiimmfi.
  • BakerMan @ BakerMan:
yeah you just need to put your NAND backup with wiimmfi on it
  • BakerMan @ BakerMan:
ngl i feel like if a bunch of my friends have wiis and know how to get wiimmfi and back up their NAND, then we could do a PMEX Remix tournament
  • BakerMan @ BakerMan:
maybe even add UMVC3/DBFZ and make it a biathlon/triathlon
