Yes.

Actually you don't have to. If you convert save with them,there just turn into dummy item without harm your save

Dummy items have been available on Monster Hunter games for the longest time.

I have some questions though:
1.) how will the patch be applied?
2.) will it be in .cia format?
3.) Can you give estimate of pecentage of completeness for this project? (Im kinda late to the party n.n')

I say that because his question was moving from JPN > EU. Meaning selling the items may not be required as they may just show as Dummy and unusable. I obviously can't guarantee that's what would happen but just a guess.

Just discovered this thread, thank you so much for your work! One thing: is a MH X savefile required to unlock something in the XX version? Like a specific armor set or something? I never played the X because I'm waiting for the patched version of the "sequel"

More importantly delete any saved set that has Gen exclusive DLC pieces in it, otherwise XX will crash as soon as you hover over that set and you'll have to sell one item to get rid of the whole thing.

So, do you have to do all these changes manually? since it appears its not as simple as to port all the translations from the MHX patch and just work on the new stuff

No, they did already port most of the MHX stuff, but there's a lot of new content, plus they're changing the font.

Thanks a lot! I have that problem! Whenever I get into the Item Sets and hover around the game crashes. I'll have to check which one has the exclusive DLC item and sell those on the MHXX game? Cuz as soon as I get into that item the game crashes.

I'll try out your NTR Method... I just need to update the NTR Plugin, Selector and the bin files right?

My DLC equipment deleted on its own, but apparently something remained in the saved sets that made the game crash. Unfortunately the only way to delete them now is by selling any one armor part or weapon of that set, and the whole thing will disappear. Maybe later a save editor will do it.

Only Marth and Strider armors will make the game crash as far as I know.
The reason: Marth's armor uses the ID of Giaprey/Drome armor and Strider uses Conga/Lala armor
EDIT: If your Marth gear is on, let's say, Box4 Row6 Slot 7, if you hover over it the game will crash. However, if you go to Box5 Row6 Slot 7 and then press L it does allow you to select the "Marth gear" and equip it, THEN the game freezes, I haven't tested it myself, but maybe, if you use this method, you can actually use the Sell Equip option, go to the previous/next Box/Row/Slot from your Gen-exclusive DLC and press L/R to have a one chance of selling it. Then again, I dont know if works or not.

Actually you can use NTR Mode 3. Works on my 2DS.
It allows you to run NTR, while playing extended memory games.

Edit: I think the english patch will be too big though. mb
We'll have to wait for a prepatched cia then.

The patch size doesn't matter for Mode-3 only the size of the plugin which is incredible small, so o3ds users should be able to use the NTR patch with Mode-3
