I have new 3ds xl with a9lh on 11.2 right now.
For some unspoken reason I've lost the only backup of 9.2 sysnand I had. I still have otp.bin though.
Is 9.2 sysnand backup needed in first place? Or should I just get 11.3 backup and it will be fine?

So I updated my old 3ds on 4.4fw, to 11.3 with a9lh+luma cfw following the 3dsguide page. Everything seems good now. Homebrew channel on the startup menu and FBI, etc.
Only issue is now it's not seeing my Supercard DSTWO card anymore. I thought it was supposed to be usable after installing al9h+luma? Is there a special way to trigger it's functionality or something i'm missing here?

If I'm following Plailect's guide, and all I want to do is run homebrew on my friend's O3DS(which is on 9.9), all I have to do is follow the Soundhax part, right?

Also, is a 2GB card enough?

Yep, use Soundhax to enter the Homebrew Launcher and then just continue the guide.
As for the SD, is enough for following the guide, but obviously if you want to install your backup you have to change it with a bigger one after you completed the A9LH process

Update to my previous post: The SupercardDStwo isn't the issue. I can pop it into my n3ds on 9.2 sysnand and it pops up as expected on the main screen.
So somehow, updating the o3ds to 11.3 a9lh+luma cfw, has broken DS flashcart use...
Is there some setting w luma/hourglass/etc that has to be set to enable DS cart use??

If you have A9LH and 11.3, update again through settings. It shouldn't hurt.

Do I need CFW to install CIA DLC (LIKE FE FATES)? I HAVE GATEWAY AND STILL ON 4.4...
Thanks
No you can do that in Gateway mode. But you'll need a higher version to play the game. Gateway doesn't work on 11.3 emuNAND so you'll need to find a way to update to 11.2 or less (eg you can turn off cartridge update suppression, and update with a rom).

Is there a way for me to transfer my games/cia files and save files to my computer and then transfer to another new3ds console?

I'm selling my cfw console and using that money to buy another console. Since I won't have them at the same time, I can't do a system transfer, is there another way of doing so?

but wouldnt freeshop require that i have CFW, for just gateway i can just use bigbluemenu?
Gateway is a CFW, it just requires the cartridge for the rom select menu, and to boot into it.

If you take a NAND backup and backup the moveable.sed I think you can. But you'd want to research how to do it. JKSM can backup save files and restore them to any console so you don't have to worry about them. You will probably lose your NNID and any associated purchases (unless you call Nintendo and they are willing to transfer it for you). You will definitely lose Activity Log and Mii Plaza progress.

I'm not too sure about the NAND backup and the moveable.sed but I don't mind losing my activity log, Mii Plaza progress and my NNID cuz my previous one is JP and the new one will be US. Would I be better off redownloading all the games and add the save files?

It's been a year since I've been on here. I got the Sky3DS a year ago, am wondering if the current version of Gateway is easier and better? Haven't updated my 3DS in twelve months.

Hi, I need an opinion about a a9lh+luma+ban combination. I have a O3DS 4.1.0E with rxTools 3.0 beta, banned by the wave of Pokemon Moon leak. I want to follow the https://3ds.guide guide in order to have a better softmod and to remove the ban. I ask you: can I follow that guide up to this page https://3ds.guide/installing-arm9loaderhax, section IV - Restoring the system, point 6, just before upgrading to the latest firmware, that I don't know if I can do because of the ban, search and follow a guide to immediately remove the ban by injecting that famous specific file, then conclude the steps of the initial guide? Thanks!

Edit: resolved, just follow the original guide 'till the end, then install Decrypt9 as a payload.

Did anyone else experience slower boot times (around 7 seconds, instead of almost instantly) after updating from 11.2 to 11.3? I have softmodded my 2DS last month using Plailect's guide, so everything is up to date, except Hourglass9 which is one or two releases old; I've always used Luma3DS hourly, even updated it a couple of times after updating, but nothing has changed.

I've also seen another guy with the same issue, but he just restored a previous backup; something which I, in my infinite wisdom, I had all but forgotten to do. I do have a NAND backup, but it's one of version 7.x I made when going through the guide.
