Anyone has a .rpx version of FBS Alpha Neogeo ? For some reason the Mame core has trouble with some games. Oddly, I can't seem to load my Windjammers (I'm certain it's a MAME one though), it justs opens the archive and says that nothing is here. FBS Alpha works well but I'm using the homebrew launcher as a channel so the .elf is problematic for me, and that's the only one I found on the appstore :(
You use the fba2012 core for neogeo. Make sure there's a bios in the same folder as the roms too

I just went the "Fuck it" route and opened up an issue in GitHub regarding my problems with the newest nightly:
https://github.com/libretro/RetroArch/issues/4451

The issues being that the button layout per-core is not being saved on restart, and that the file browser does not start on the specified directory given in Settings -> Directories.

Your second issue can be solved by choosing favorites
I found that out today

Yep thanks did that. But this core doesn't see the Bluetooth controllers sadly. Opened an issue in the sub git :)

I don't know much about arcade emulation but anyone may know if my problem is Roms related and not a RetroArch problem ? My mame 2003 loads all my like 10 games fine except Windjammers. I'm sure it's a mame ROM, the contents inside the archive are .Bin. I tried different versions but MAME either DSI (when it's not the proper format I guess) or acts as if the archive were empty :\

Is windjammers known to be difficult to emulate ?

Y did see the option and thought of doing so, but didn't do it.
Nice to know it works that way, thanks for the heads up

wait so is the bug still valid? Also the glitch I was referring to is very peculiar. Let's say I open Snes9x 1.53 on the Wii U, version 1.4.0 with Wii U Pro, constantly changing ROMs, etc actually works pretty much perfectly, but there's a caveat. Whenever I open a single app, and then the ROM, RetroArch tells me to select a core to associate the loaded ROM with before booting it. Before, it would automatically load the ROM associated with the core that I loaded up. This saves a lot of time in the long run, so I recorded what was happening on my camera for the sake of showing it better in action.

I would recommend to find the FBA romset and play wjammers from that. Neo Geo emulation will be much better that way anyway.

That's intentional for sure.
And actually, I thought that you had to go through the whole cores to find the right one, but thankfully enough, the RA guys did make each app recognize which core it is for, hence why it recommends you exactly the appropriate core right after you select the ROM.

Seeing it now, I say it is quite okay and works nicely for me.

So you're saying I shouldn't bother filing a bug report on GitHub? I personally wished the core would auto-boot the ROM relative to the core you chose, to save a few seconds each time, IDK, maybe it's just me that isn't a big fan *shrug*:unsure: I liked it when a Snes9x loaded ROMs for Snes9x automatically. Or at least a possible toggle to turn this feature on or off.

This isn't a bug. When you save the directory in your settings, it makes the Favorite folder be that folder. It will show it like this -
usb:
sd:
Favorite

Just select the Favorite and you will go to the directory you saved in the settings.

Interesting, never thought of using that, as I wasn't sure if it was fully functional or not, does scanning for content per core work as well?

Yeah it's not a bug, they changed it deliberately. It takes less than a sec actually, simply double press A when choosing a ROM. :P

Oh thanks!
I wasn't really aware of that, they have added so much stuff lately into the main RetroArch app that I didn't even know about that. :P

Only problem is I didn't consolidate my ROM folders, mostly because I wanted to keep them separate, but now we can use CFW to speed up reading, I might as well combine them into one big folder :P

I have one folder named "rom" and put my individual system type folders in that, and then set the favorite folder to the "rom" folder. It's really not that hard to choose the system folder after that. If you plan on playing a certain emulator for a while, playing different games on that system, you could even change the favorite to that folder for your session. I'm going to see if the favorite folder can be saved per core, and try to add that though.

I do the same too :P
One main ROMs folder in my root, and then separate folders per console, like GBA, GBC, NES, SNES, Genesis, etc.

I did try that before, actually, but that was before we got the libfat changes to use in conjunction with the CFW, but now that Haxchi has it by holding B during boot, I can finally re-consolidate the ROM folder with folders inside it.

Personnaly I like being asked which core to chose because I like to jump between them to chose my prefered emulation.
Indeed right now on Wii U it's a little bit stupid because one app is linked to a single core, but in the near future I don't see why Snes9X mainline couldn't ask whether we want to load the rom with 2010 for instance.

So yeah, I think this core prompt is intentional and imo it's a good idea !

PS : when scanning content and libraries will be available, scanning a game in a library and launching it with a core will tie it to this precise core (when launched from the library). This is how it works on Linux right now at least.

I have a HD formatted by WiiU with y cable plugged on Back USB, it has my WiiU games.

I have another HD, with a WBFS partition for Wii games and other Fat32 partition, filled with Roms.

Im plugging this HD on front USB, along with the other one, also using a Y cable, but i cant find it on retroarch, it finds only the SD card...

How can i do this fat32 hd to be recognized by it?

What would be amazing is for old pc emulator cores like dosbox, hatari, cm64 and so on, basicaly any emulator that uses a keyboard and a mouse it would be amazing to have a touchscreen digital keyboard show up on wiiu gamepad and or mouse support using a stylus.

I think you must have only the fat32 drive plugged in to work and you also need cfw launched
