Either do that or boot up in Recovery Mode (Wether you have a custom one or not doesn't matter) and connect your phone to your PC. If it doesn't show up, try mounting it through the recovery. Your device will not create any new files or folders at all.

I got my 3DS with Animal Crossing New Leaf preinstalled and I want to hack my 3DS using welll-known guide. But at the same time I don't want to lose save for AC. Backing up SD Card will be enough?
If you follow http://3ds.guide word by word, you'll end up with everything you started + hacked console.
So im stuck in the safehax, with the blackscreen bug. Ive tried using a cartdrige, not using it, using different versions of Decrypt9 but i still am unlucky.

Ive used the lastest files in the guide. So that would be the safehax r19. This is pretty basic stuff so i feel kinda dumb not being aware of what i am doing wrong. : |
Nope hahah, doesn't work that way. It will pretty much ignore all the folders related to CFW if CFW hasn't been installed onto it.
