I have been trying to get any kind of response for almost 2 weeks now but it seems i'm unlucky and no one ever notice my post as i copied and reposted it twice and now will be the third repost in that 2 week span . . .

Here's my original post and hopefully someone will see it this time or i'll try again in 2 or 3 days :P

Hey guys, been using Sky3ds+ with private header and ninjhax for a while now but yesterday i followed this guide https://3ds.guide/ since i just learned that 11.2.0-35U was compatible since new exploit was found recently.

So now that i have a CFW and a Sky3DS+, i have a few questions.

I know i was pretty safe with using online or eshop with my SKY3DS+ and private header, but now with .cia games i understand that no headers are needed as it use your console unique ID so you technically have the equivalent of a private header and shouldn't get banned using online. Now i'm not sure about the eshop, i have read that having come .cia games can get you banned or your .cia gets deleted/removed when visiting the eshop . . . is that why there is an eshop app in the homebrew starter kit?

Regarding the homebrew starter kit, it seems that a lot of included things in the homebrew channel are useless. Is there a place i can find a description of what each of those apps do in details so i can delete the ones i really won't ever need?

And regarding .cia games, what difference is there between 3ds rom converted to .cia or eshop exclusive .cia? I know there is legit and unsigned .cia but there is also cryptofixed and i'm not quite sure how i should deal with all of those regarding online and eshop use as to the risk etc . . .

Also since pokémon Sun/Moon roms still havent had their AP cracked by Sky team, does having a CFW helps me in any ways regarding roms i can run on the SKY3DS+ through regionfreelauncher, Hans or something else? I still plan to run all my current roms on my cart and maybe get a few eshop exclusive as .cia, but for cases like the newest pokémon games, would converting my 3ds rom into .cia be the best option?

If there is any really useful things i should install now that i have CFW, don't hesitate to recommend them and where to find them :P

Oh and is there a way to edit my picrite count in pokémon picross lol, i know i have the app to change the play coins already installed so i wonder if a similar app exist for this free game as moving the clock back and forth around midnight is a tedious way to get picrite lol

The problem is your post is much too long. If people are scanning this thread looking for a question or two to answer they'll pick a shorter one and move on.

For Picross search for NTR cheats for it.

For CFW, useful apps are freeShop, FBI, JKSM, Cthulhu. For homebrew games I like DrawAttack, Lemmings, and the new multiplayer Snakes game.

You can download Sun and Moon from freeShop.

Difference between installed from freeShop and converted to cia would be that if downloaded from freeShop you can redownload from the eShop, but a converted cartridge can't because it doesn't come with a valid ticket.

You can delete everything in the starter kit and just add things as you need them. Most homebrew can be installed as a cia anyway.

You won't get banned for using cia files unless you play a game before its official release. The eShop app was for when homebrew users couldn't update and the eShop wouldn't let them in. This app let them access the eShop even though they weren't on the latest version.

Hi. I have been wondering if you can use rom hacks on an r4i 3ds flashcard. I have tested the hack on an emulator, I have tried mostly everything, yet it still doesn't work. I am trying to use the hack Mario Kart Zero (a hack of Mario Kart DS) but to no avail. Thanks for any help! :-)


Also, if anyone could reply that would be +1 like...

I don't know if this will help but I have a r4i RTS 3ds and it plays ROM hacks just fine. Make sure your r4 firmware is up to date.

Hey guys, I'm new to this and I have one question. The only way I have to read my microSD card on the computer is through my Android, the thing is that when I place my SD card on the Android it creates some system folders typical to the system on the card, do those folders interfere with anything or can I follow the 3DS.Guide whitout worrying? Thanks in advance

You can follow the guide without worrying as long as you're able to create folders and place files on the root of your SD card.
